Renderware

One aspect that brings this game down is the graphics. The Renderware engine does everthing nicely except for the most important part: The players. Heads are the size of beachballs, and animations, while smooth, remain unrealistic. My question is, after seeing the failure of Rugby 2004, why did they use Renderware again? The engine for Cricket 2002 would have been better!

I think it's a big improvement. The motion capture is better and the animation is smoother. But the graphics are a bit dodgy in places... but I think this is just due to the designers not creating the models properly. Because (off the top of my head) successful games like Grand Theft Auto 3 (and Vice City) and Pro Evolution Soccer 3 were created using Rednerware. Personally, I don't exaclty know what Renderware is but I don't think it's at fault.

The gfx of GTA werent so eyecatchin...whatwith squarish heads and fingerless hands, but it was the gameplay that rocked!

I jus hate the bowler's anim werein he ducks soon as he bowls, as if its the batsman whose bowlin a bouncer at him.

actully pro evo 3's graphics were made by konami, the graphics in pro evo 2 which were not very good at all spectacular so renderware is actually preety rubbish

I know only one game where renderware was used successfully- Broken sword the sleeping dragon- I'm sure they will have mastered it properly for next time- ( hopefully a different engine thouggh-lol)
