Well,it so happens that a member normally over-shoots his signature limits.
Thereafter a mod has to Pm him informing about the limit.

Can't there be an in-built system which does not allow the over-sized signature to load ? There is such a system in palce for the avatars.
It would be helpful to have one for the signaturtes as well.

I believe its a built-in feature of vB 3.6.x, so instead of "MOD"ing the current board it would be more logical to upgrade. I think ste once tried to add the signature limiting MOD which didn't work as expected.

Just make the limit 400x200
How would that help people not go over the limit, people would have sigs that are 410x220 and the problem would still be there. The first post is about putting in a thing that checks the sig to see if it goes over the limit, increasing the limit doesn't stop this.

Yes if we had a system that checks your sig i wouldnt keep getting bans.

As has already been said, a system will be in place when the forum upgrade is complete.

There is already a system in place of course, and it is your very own brains. When you have a graphical signature, just check the size of it! It's not very hard and can even be done with paint. And when you have a signature that is already 300x100 and add text under it, you can't really complain that you didn't know it was over the limit.

If you search round the forums, someone (Kev, I think) posted a guide a while back on how to keep a mixed graphics/text signature within the rules.

Anyway, enough on this now, and before anyone asks again, we have no intention of increasing the limit. We don't do this just to annoy you, it is to make the forum accesible to as many people as possible. Keeping signature sizes down helps keep page load times down. I'd also question as to why signatures are so important to you. Nobody who matters judges you on the quality of your signature, they judge you on the quality of your contribution to the forum.
