The Mod-mins on these Forums are far to strict, it's getting crazy. Threads are bound to evolve, look at Message Forums around the net and they don't stay on exactly the same subject all the time. I mean the latest example '2006 Ashes Tickets' gets into talking about the Ashes. How can that be off-topic? It says Ashes in the title it's all related. I mean are we meant to make even more threads and clog up the Forum even more, or use the same thread to make it longer?

Something needs to change in my opinion, as it's just getting crazy.

The thread title was Ashes tickets, that is what should be discussed in there. Natural flow of a topic is one thing, but going completely off the topic is something completely different.

I made a request to get back on topic, two members chose to ignore this request, hence the topic was closed.

If you wanted the topic to have remained open, you should have followed my instructions, as you are required to do by the forum rules.

If any more explanation is needed, feel free to contact an admin.

?? What are you on about the topic was about the ticket sales not the ashes in general and whos the better bowler etc, Read the Title and reply to the TITLE not your opinions on other topics.

Continually closing topics causes problems though. I mean how specific should threads be? I think you guys need to realise that people post because it's something they enjoy doing, keeping things this strict like a Dictatorship, 'do as we tell you' will discourage people and ultimately ruin this forum.

For your information, we do let threads drift off-topic a little here and there, but when a thread has gone completely off-topic with no signs of going back on topic, we post a request to get back on topic.

If people chose to ignore the request, it's their problem, not ours.

I thought this might be a thread saying we are too lenient on people going off topic because compared to some forums I visit there's no doubt we are.
You'd be surpised how many PM's I get from people complaining about the stuff they are expected to wade through to read about the actual topic.
We have no problem at all with people starting a new thread if they find something interesting in a thread and want to explore it further but we do ask that you keep all posts relevant.
Again on many forums your posts would simply be deleted and you would get a warning but instead the mods post a friendly reminder. I'm sorry you feel discrimated against but ultimately rules are needed to control the forum and make it easier to navigate for all users.
