Super 8's - What ever happened to this?

Back in about 1996 Fox Sports aired an International Super 8's tournament and I was wondering if there are any more games played in this format? Sure it was just a mess around thing but it wasn't too bad. I remember Alan Border was coaching Malaysia at the time...and then once the tournament was over I didn't see it again.

Yeah, I don't think they continued the Super 8's any more. As Cricketman said, they have the Hong Kong Sixes which is essentially the same thing.

I think you'll find out that they did another super 8 tournament at Sussex's ground in 2003 which was live on Sky Sports. The winner of that tournament was a Sri Lankan team which had Jayasuriya and Sangkkara in their team who beat Norfolk in the final who did have Alvin Kallicharran and Graham Diley playing for them. But other than that I think the Hong Kong 6's have taken over this now.
