It would be fair to say that less people care about this format, and doesn't involve such big skill compared a test match. Actually it is very good for the development of the game in non-cricketing nations, and would reach out big crowds like USA, and China.

I think more teams should get a T20 status, and more teams should be able to take part in the T20 World cup thing.

It's a stupid idea. The Twenty20 World Cup went on for the perfect time limit, and adding extra teams would just make it like the proper World Cup and go on for far too long. The formats fine as it is. The current structure keeps it exciting for the entirity of the tournament, a longer tournament means more meaningless games, and just ruins the spectacle.

I wouldn't be against an expansion as long as they build the format around the FIFA World Cup. 1st Round, then QFs, SFs and the championship game. But I don't think it would work out because you wouldn't necessarily be able to see the top rivalries.

I dont think its good for developing countrys like USA etc. Those fans will get into that so much and if it becomes popular there then they arent going to wanna bother with Tests and ODI probably. They will want the big hits.

Yes, but those countries will only recognize cricket as an actual sport if it is shortened. The gap is far too large in ODI and Test cricket. Take USA for example. T20 cricket will catch on because it does not last that much longer than say football, basketball, etc. They do not have the patience to watch ODI or test cricket.

Leave test cricket to the nations between whom the competition is even and t20 cricket to everyone because, it doesn't come down to pure cricketing skill and will offer more chances of glory to the lesser nations.

But USA are big baseball fans, thats a long game and NFL goes for about 4 or so hours too.

I am against making Twenty20 any bigger than it already is. I mean, watching a Twenty20 once or twice a year is good, but I don't want it to become the big timemain attraction. Although, in the direction Cricket is heading, it probably will.

You and the ICC should forget about developing countries into Test teams until they have a proper grassroots system in place. And that system will never be in place strongly until there is interest in the game. Let's face it, someone who has not been naturally been exposed to cricket will not take a liking to Test cricket. It is just not engrossing to someone who does not understand the game.

Once you have Twenty20 in place (and let's face it, it's the most exciting form of the game, measured in excitement per unit time) there will hopefully be a large enough of base of cricketers to begin developing full-time cricketers.

No one starts playing sport by playing at the highest level.

None of these games touch the 7.5 hours of play + break in between innings that an ODI game lasts. Any TV channel in the US, currently, that would think about broadcasting an almost 8-hour program would lose millions of dollars of revenue.

TBH Test cricket can only be played by 5 countries properly at the moment.

Australia, South Africa, India, England, Pakistan, West Indies, New Zealand, Sri Lanka. Which of those countries aren't "playing test cricket properly" ?

Leave out Pakistan, WI and NZ.

Your comments are disgrace and offending.

You may aswell say only India should play cricket.

Well we could. We have enough players for an ICL and IPL :p

But nah. The test nations as they are (expcept Zimbwbwe) are fine.

T20 is great for expansion. Once a fan likes T20 cricket, he'll learn the rules more, get into cricket and players more, and may start following ODIs and Tests. Youngsters will give the game a go, and more people will want to play it meaning better infrastructure for it will be developed, and slowly they develop a good base of players and more players willing to play ODIs and Test...

Have you completely lost it?:noway

Sid likes to blow things out of proportion. His statements are extremely erratic. It's funny to read though. As soon as something goes wrong, he hypes it up and posts a drastic change that he feels should be made. I suppose you could call him an impulsive and volatile visionary :p.

The problem with Bangladesh is that they always seem to have promising youngsters but that's always been the case. They are never persisted with and hence, never reach the heights people said they were capable of reaching; they just drop him and select another youngster who apparently has talent as well.
