The Sachn thing- deeply dissapointed

hi my name is Amar an dim from Kolkata India and have been using planetcricket for 2-3 years without becoming a member...intense lethargy...lol.nyway what finally prompted me to join was the issue about sachin tendulkar on the cover..i know this is the last thing you guys wanna talk about...but closing a thread is not the solution...the chap called simran and the other australian dude still hold prejudiced views about each others countries. Id like to begin by saying that while im not a big fan of Sachin( he is slightly overpaid isn't he?) any game with him on the cover would sell like crazy...However his biggest problem is he's Indian...and in my experience i have foudnd out that all over the world it jst isnt cool to be indian..that being said simran's post was a complete disgrace...it shames to think that people like him judge a country so harshly without ever having been there...however some of the replies the austalians gave was also disappointing...Sachin is the best, if not one of the best of all time...pointing out ICC rankings is not really fair to a man who has torn apart so many bowling attacks on such a consistent basis....and has so many runs in the different forms of the game..i was also dissapointed by planetcrickets moderators for the way they handled the issue...closing down a thread doesnt change a person's opinion...Both India and Australia have given a lot to the world and the world is better for it....we are all fans of the game and the discussion is relevant because we are not jut talking about a game cover..we are talking about how people perceive each other...i would also like to add that sachin has done a lot for the poor people of India and the reason people call him a god is that in a country where there is no equitael ditribution of wealth and standards of living arent that great cricket is our greatest escape and the burning of effigies is the common man's way of releasing his frustration...in all of time no one has ever harmed a cricketer in this country...The aussie team is sed to be brash and arrogant and they deserve to be so for they have beaten everyone and a certain attitude for psycholgical dominance is required...ive gone on and on havent i...still not clear as to what im tring to convey...i guess im trying to say that everyone hould keep an open mind and most importantly keeping loving the beautiful game of cricket...(such a senti post...sorry)...

I completely agree with some of your points there that closing a thread wont change the views and opinions.After all if we cant discuss in the forums then where should we?Also do u know in India it is releasing as Yuvraj Singh International Cricket 2007?It doesnt make any difference whether any cricket game comes with the name of Sachin Tendulkar,he will always be great.

my point is that wh be so demeaning toward sachin. All he's done is score runs and score mroe runs..he's not god...but he's not unwothy of mighty praise either...at the same time it was an apology for a shameful post by the simran chap

The thread was closed because of the personal attacks going on in there, it had nothing to do with the actual topic of the thread.

OMG !! it even went to an extent of "inventions made by countries" !! :

the point is that a game will leave a mark only when its the best in all departments.and to be honest, BLIC07 doesnt even give 25% of the cricketing enthusiasm,feel and the atmosphere to be in the middle...let alone the performance issues. IMO, the game SUCKS, atleast looking at the demo

yes, there is a possibility that having tendulkar on the cover might
boost the sales esp in the subcontinent...but that wont stop people from
criticizing the game.

tbh, after playing HL2, most of the FPS look tacky and hopeless.
i have completed HL2 for like 10 times now and still havent got bored
of it.

to sell the game in India which is cricket's biggest market..wrong contextual reference...Yuvraj Singh cricket is going to be available only in India...it is not a world wide release...i really dunno how u managed to connec the 2...wat i meant by the world not thinkin Indians were kool was actually in reference to one of the comments of the thread that was closed down where sumone actually sed 'there are a lot of Indian's in Australia..i wonder why that is?' or sumthing along those lines...Indians are just not viewed as a hip crowd...which is sad....nyway if u really think Yuvraj Singh cricket promotes is the koolest version of the codies game please buy it from an indian website and pay shipping charges...peace

You're only fueling a discussion which has gotten out of control and been closed as such. Most of what you said was alright but part of the forum is that when a mod closes a thread you don't start a new one on the same subject, and besides that your argument is not needed because there already is an Indian version.

If you want to post here I'm happy to see you, you seem to have strong opinions, but the first thing you need to know is to respect the mods (except Brad)

But sure in the future if the game is big enough, Sachin could be on it. They probably don't feel the need to sponsor any other bigs names when they have Ponting and Lara already.

im not that big of a sachin fan..the issue outwieghs just the cover.....lets hope the game does get big though...its a nice game....(actually slightly dissapointed Ganguly's not on the cover).....

i dont see what ure probblem is, they are releasing YSIC 07, the name on the cover dosent make much diffrence, u dont see pakistanis complaining their isnt inzamn ul haq int cricket 2007, or the british guys.
