In a sudden development, the Totenham Hotspurs Football Club directors Daniel Levy announced the sacking of Manager Martin Jol.Spurs had a faily good season fighting for the 4th spot with Liverpool . But at the end it was Liverpool who were just better than Spurs . Jol was sacked due to poor results at the end of the season which saw Tottenham moving in the wrong direction .

Daniel Levy issued a statement today on the sacking of Martin Jol

"Martin has been a great asset for Tottenham Hotspurs Football Club over the past years. But we at the club feel its time to look at other options, a fresh set of mind to handle over the issues of the club. We are a very ambitious club and want to get back the winning feeling. The fans have not seen silverware for sometime now and would love to see some.

Tottenham and Martin depart today as friends. We still believe we could utilize Martin's valuable inputs to the club in some capacity. The new manager for Tottenham Hotspurs Football Club will be announced in a week's time. We request the fans to trust the club they love and support."

Martin Jol decided not to comment at the moment . The front runners for the manager role at White Hart Lane are Juande Ramos, Avhram , Guus Hiddick , Stuart Pearce , Steve McClaren and Jaques Santini.

Sony buy major stake

The action has reached a high with Sony taking control of 48% of stakes in Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

A statement was released by Sony

Quote:
"Sony are proud to associate ourselves with football and especially one of the clubs with a great heritage. We are here to improve the game, not monopolize it. We do hope Sony and Tottenham Hotspur forge a long and successful partnership for the future."
The board of directors have been retained, but Sony are supposedly are chosing their own manager for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club

The Sony's Manager short list consists of

1)Juande Ramos(Age : 54 , Spainish) He managed Sevilla to two consecutive UEFA Cup titles . He also has shown a lot of interest to the vaccant job at London .

2)Guus Hiddink(Age : 61 , Dutch) Currently coach of Russian Football team but had successive spell with South Korea and PSV Eindhoven in the past .

3)Shantanu Ambekar(Age : 33 , English) Is very inexperience and could be a gamble to appoint him as the new manager .

The Phone Call

Well it was 10:40 pm on 29 June 2007 . It was almost time for sleep as I had to go out for golf next day . But suddenly as I switched off the light my cell phone rang . It was an unknown number . I took up the phone

Hello??

Hello , Mr Amberkar this Daniel Levy the chairman of Tottenham Hotspur Football CLub , hope I didnt disturb you .

Oh hi , Mr Levy , no not at all .

So Mr Ambekar as you know Juande and Guus both have rejected to be the next manager of the football club so as you were interest we have decided to have a talk with you about the vacant job at White Hart Lane . Are you interest ?

Yes of course sir , I always wanted this opportunity . I am glad you had a look at my proposal .

As you we wanted some one new and full of good spirit for the club we decided to give you a try as you are young and new .

Thank You Sir !!

So Mr Ambekar we shall meet tomorrow sharp at 9 am at White Hart Lane , still then good night . Bye !!

I kept the phone and it was as if I was dreaming . I am gonna be the new manager of one of my fovourite club . We I called my friend and cancel the golf and the went to sleep exited about tomorrow .


Contract Offer

Well I was at White Hart Lane at sharp 9 am . I met Levy in the conference hall and we decided the contract terms . I was gonna get 100,000 pounds weekly for my job and it was a good offer for me . well my term lasted for 2 years and they set me some objective also . They wanted me European success in UEFA Cup and also fighting for the 4th Champions League spot . They asked me to start work from tomorrow and I accepted the offer on the spot . I was gonna be unveiled soon today .

Tottenham Hotspur Unveil Me

Well after signing the contract it was time for the club to unveil me in front of the world media . The Press Conference was gonna be held at 2:00pm and it was still 5 hours . I decided go out for some window shopping around London . I had fun in the 3 hrs I didnt window shopping . No one recognized me and I was thinking once I was unveiled what feeling will they be having . I had meal in a nearby restaurant and then went back to White Hart Lane . I saw many media person waiting in conference room . I was told to wait till Daniel Levy came . he arrived . I was nervous as I entered behind him .

Quoted by Mr Levy:
"Well Thank You guys for being here . We are here to officially unveil the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur . We have decided to give this new man Mr Shantanu Ambekar a chance after the other managers short listed rejected the offer . We are happy to make him the new manager of the club . He is new and young so we have decided he could bring some youth spirit in the club . "

Mr Levy gave me the Tottenham Hotspur shirt with my name written a the back . There were at least some 30 odd flashed of cameras as the photo session went for around 2-3 minutes .

Quoted by Mr Levy:"Well now you all can ask either him or me some question "

Reporter : Mr Levy dont you think you are gambling too much on inexperience ?

Quoted by Mr Levy :
"Well I dont think so , he has good managering abilities and he is new to the football world ."

Reporter : Well this your first club in charge how are you feeling ?

I am feeling very exciting and proud to be the manager of such a popular and big club . It is a dream come true for me .

Reporter : Are you gonna spend money this on new players ? If yes , who do you intend to buy ?

Yes I am thinking of strengthening some department and bring some good young players in .

Reporter : What are the objectives this season for the club ?

We have to play some good football . WE will be fighting again for the 4th Champions LEague spot but this we will try to be successful and also to perform well this season in Europe . But my main objective at the moment is too Dimitar Berbatov . He has a lot of interest from big clubs .

Mr Levy interrupted and said " I think its time . There are some formalities left to discuss with Mr Ambekar ."

All the media person were a bit angered with the chairman's comments and they decided to leave the room as told .

Well it was a good day for me to be unveiled as the new manager . As I went towards my car in the parking I met with 2 small children in Tottenham Hotspur jersey and they asked me for autograph . I was very happy and gave them my autograph . Well I had achieved a big thing . I though about that as I went home .

My First Day at Office.

First day at office is a lot of nerves. As I stepped in at White Hart Lane for the first time as the manager , I was welcomed by huge booing. Even though I was mentally prepared for such a reception, It was really disheartening. But I could understand the emotions of all those passionate fans present inside the stadium . They might have expected some one expert and popular , not a amateur like me. But this only gave me the steel and the determination to win over these fans.

After getting my Jersey from the Chairman in front of the fans(accompanied by more booing), I stepped into my office and switched on the laptop. An automated message from the board blinked at me.

Well the chairman have stuck to his word and have made 39.5 Million Pounds for transfer fees. Thats great .


Chuckling to myself, I switched off my Laptop and went to meet the players in the dressing room .


Meet the Team

After checking the mails, I walked down the corridor and popped up at Gus Poyet's office. I had decided to retain Gus as my assistant even though he was a favorite of Jol! Gus has worked hard with the reserves and the youth academy and is a fav here at White Hart Lane. So I opted to have his first hand opinion on the players and the general setup.

To say he was very supporting to me . He introduced me to the whole team .


After meeting the team we began talking of the new signing . I was really not satisfied by the first team and we had very inexperience youth .

We had a good chat about it .

We need to strengthen the defence and the striking , what do you think Gus ?

Well , we have decent defenders and yeah we need some great strikers . Dimitar and Robbie are the best but Darren doesnt look settled over here .

Who do you reckon as the new signing ?

I think you should check with the scout . But my option would be Arshavin . Who plays fro Zenit in Russia .

Yeah he could be a good buy . Come on Gus lets check the teams . How about a freindly between the reserves and the first team ?

Yeah , thats a great idea . How about on this 7th ?

Transfers and More

The next 2 days were really hectic . I had to do a lot searching with my scouts . I had decided some players who would be placed on the transfer list as they weren't need at the club . Pascal headed the list as he had spoken out that he wanted to move out of England . I was fed up with the injury prone Ledley King the captain as he needed more 5 months to recover from his recent injury . Paul Salteri was gonna also be on the transfer list as he was a flop here at White Hart Lane . Teemu Taino and Kevin prince Boateng didnt impress me also . Benoit Assou Ekotto was placed to be loaned out so that the young guy gets some first team experience . Darren Bent who was the major flop buy by Martin Jol was gonna leave as he was totally unsettled over here at Tottenham . I estimated at 20m pounds income from the buy .

In these the two days I and Mel(scout) short listed some players namely

1)Andrei Arshavin : Russia best striking talent . He could really be handy . But would he adjust to the Premier League

2)Bastian Schweinsteiger : Very good winger and has a lot of pace . Dead ball specialist .

3)Micah Richards : Strong defender . Can play anywhere in the defence . Best players of Manchester City​

While the other teams were spending some money also . Arsenal had made an 4m offer for David Nugent . Aston Villa made an 4.1m bid for Timmy Simmons from PSV . Newcastle looked like spending the most of their money . They had bid 13m for Friedrich , 9m on Ledley King and 6.5m on Darren Bent . Marseille made and 5m offer for Chimbonda which I accepted and Rangers made a loan bid for Ekotto which I also accepted . Many things were happening in the transfer market in the 2 days .

But the main focus at the moment was the friendly match between the First Team and Reserves which in a day's time .

I am playing CM 2007 with 90% updated squads . I personally updated them so may be some mistakes here and there . But it took me some 6hrs to do .
