My computer has been infected by a Trojan.Pandex virus. My Norton AntiVirus hasn't been able to delete it and neither has all the ways that I have found online that were suggested. So I was wondering if any of you guys would be able to help me out?

cheers,

Ahh, this little bugger got my cousin a few months ago.

I found simply using NOD32 instead of Norton (eugh) got rid of it.

First make sure system restore is turned off.

Then boot in Safe Mode (press F8 from the moment your PC turns on), scan the PC with NOD and then quarantine the file, before deleting it.

This fixed it for him, and should do the same with yours. The info on the file suggests it is not hugely malicious, but can get email addresses and potentially cause more damage by letting rubbish in.

If this process fails, just post back and there are more ways I've found, just in case.

If you don't want to bother with NOD32, you might as well go with Avast Antivirus which is free. Although if you can get your your hands on NOD32 then probably there's no beating.

I use to always get virus with norton for me its like leaving your front door open. Anyway i use Avast and its free and deletes all virus that go on your computer

I just thought with your new problem maybe restoring your computer back to a point where you didnt have the virus and you could log on, Nothing happens to your files..well it shouldnt

Well the problem with that is that one of the supposed ways of deleting the virus was to turn off system restore. Now when that happens it means you cannot return to a place before hand. I realised that a few days after I had first got the virus. Everything seems to be working in safe mode (apart from norton antivirus). I had it working earlier, but then it said that there was an internal problem with the norton antivirus, and it needed un-installing and re-installing. So I did that and afterwards it hasn't worked. Will have to speak with my step-dad about it because all of you say that Norton is rubbish and it certainly hasn't done much good with me so far.

does it have any kind of recovery.. like my acer does?
