There will then be a 3 match finals series.

Any questions for the orginisers or any of the captains?

John Kingley Melbourne Times What inspired you to make the move to 4 teams?

Good question, we felt that having 3 touring squads gave more for the locals to get excited about. and lots of different opposition.

Simon Dorsalawenski Cricinfo England Michael, what is your aim for England in this tournament?

MV: Hi Simon, well realisticly it would be a sucess to make the finals, winning the tournament would be a very nice bonus.

Nicola Speller World Cricket What are your hopes for the series?

High standard cricket and the best team to win.

That's all we have time for today.

Hello and welcome to the 'Gabba at Brisbane for the opening VB Series clash! Australia vs Sri Lanka.

Before the toss and teams, let's have a look at the pitch.

It's a hard pitch with not much for the bowlers.

Here are the two lineups:

Australia play no frontline spinners, only Clarke, Lehmann and Symonds twirling.

Sri Lanka play 2 spinners and the part-time of Jayasuria and Samaraweera.

It will be an interesting battle between spin and pace.

Now we have the result of the toss! Sri Lanka have won the toss and elected to field.

Looking forward to it. Why are you using different AI patches?
We figured that no team plays the same. Sri Lanka may find batting harder than England, so CGPP 4 seems like a good choice. Tutsi's AI Patch 5 BETA seems to suit the difficulty of England's play. I hope you understand. :p
