2-1 was the result of the previous Ashes tour.

1st Test - England just escaped from the defeat. Following on in second innings the top order completely failed. They where 42/4 and then came in Paul Collingwood who looked very determined but wickets kept tumbling at the other end as Matt Prior departed at 70 runs on board. Next came in Andrew Flintoff and Collingwood and himself(Flintoff) put up a 57 runs partnership until Flintoff was caught by Ponting in Johnson's bowling. With wickets continue to fall with departure of broad, G Swann & Collingwood put up a remarkable slow partnership of 62 runs and giving England some hope of defending the score over last night. But Hilfenhaus trapped Swann LBW and soon after Siddle took the most crucial wicket of Collingwood with plenty of overs to spare. Anderson and Panesar had the responsibilty to draw the match and they did that with Panesar facing 35 deliveries and Anderson facing 53 deliveries and ensured they had drawn the match.

Ricky Ponting congratulates Michael Clarke after the draw

4th Test - Taking some positives out from 3rd test both teams met at Leeds. England who won the toss and elected to bat first were bundled out for mere 102 runs with Peter Siddle picking up 5 wickets. England were without Pieterson and Flintoff and did really miss them. England were playing 5 bowlers and hoping to pick up early wickets they failed. Australia put up a massive total of 445 runs and England had to first score that and then put up the lead. It was a very difficult task as England were bowled out for 263 which meant that series was equaled and Australia won by Innings and 80 runs.
