Lancashire County Cricket Club is delighted to announce the signing of Indian Batsman VVS (Vangipurappu) Laxman as the club's Overseas Player for the 2009 season.
This will be Laxman?s second stint with the Red Rose County, his first being a fruitful 4-week spell at the end of the 2007 season which saw him score 541 runs in 8 matches, with a first-class average of 54.28.
Subject to final approval from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Laxman is expected to be available one week after his IPL (Indian Premier League) commitments conclude and will remain with Lancashire until the end of the 2009 domestic season.
