What do you look for in a website?

Seeing as im about to start my new site related to cricket and rugby league.

I was wandering what people like in a website eg colour preferences, layout types etc.

If people could tell me that would be awesome cause it would help me think of a good layout!

Clean, sleek and uncluttered. No offence to PC, but the top banner is utterly chockablock with clashing colours etc. But you can't really help that other than to ask the advertisers to change their colours, but of course they wouldn't want to do that, as the clashing colour makes the advert stand out more.

Well Brett_Lee from my site experiences , i have found that users dont normally like funky colours, they normally like professional design and colours.
