Which team made the highest runs in Test match?

Pretty much irrelevent really, the only time you get those types of scores is if you're just playing for records rather than winning.

I think the English team won when they scored 903-7d against Aussies way back in 1938...right?

when Len Hutton made 364...for those who read the unedited post I apologize as it would have been one of the most stunning English performances ever coz they managed 907 runs and bowled out the Aussies in 4 days in a timeless testmatch. ...:)

Close of Play:

Day 1: India 280/3 (Tendulkar 65*, Azharuddin 18*)
Day 2: India 537/8d, Sri Lanka 39/1 (Jayasuriya 12*)
Day 3: Sri Lanka 322/1 (Jayasuriya 175*, Mahanama 115*)
Day 4: Sri Lanka 587/1 (Jayasuriya 326*, Mahanama 211*)
So they played in the rain?

And anyway, certainly they gave up the match as a draw, and it's obvious they were playing for the records

There were 438 overs bowled, and if theres 450 overs in 5 days that means (450-180 = 270, 438-270 = 168) 168 overs were bowled in the rain

hmmmm... i'm sure it rained on one of the days as well.... I remember watching this game while back.

My Bad.... But what happaned to day 5? I'm sure it rained out one day and rained during play during the 1st innings.

Umm there was only 4 days of play Squiz, have a look what Bard posted!

They don't do updates for day 5, the game's finished

And obviously they didn't finish on 587/1, considering the thread is about the record score of 952

Yep you are right Brad, I just checked the match report, they did play 5 days.
