u r right champ. He is definitely the best left arm pace man ever to play cricket.

Hey...Tendulkar's on that list! Like second from the bottom, though. Wasim Akram's record will stand for some time I think. Murali is not as effective in ODIs and he is frequently becoming injured as it is. Akram is just in a different class.

if you look at it this way the people who are closest to wasim wickest are murali, vass, kumble and mgrath. kumble and mgrath will retire after 2007 world cup so they wont do it. vaas and murali will probably get close to it but wont overtake it.

so i think that this record will never be broken. as in today cricketing world batsem play very well in odis

Yes ODI cricket has become all about batting. Unlike test cricket, the bowlers don't have to win you the matches. In test cricket you need 20 wickets to win a match--its as clear as that. Murali may get close depending on his health and acceptance around the world, while Vaasy has always been in the shadow. I think this record may just be unbreakable.

his record is safe for now so
No one in near future i.e. 6-8 yrs

GANGULY!!! :p
Seriously though, I think it'll be a while before someone breaks even Waqar Younis's record of 416 wickets, much less Wasim Akram's. Although, Murali is a serious contender for it. A few years ago I would've even said Saqlain Mushtaq but he lost his awesome form.

I'm surprised to see 2 names in that list, Shahid Afridi and Zaheer Khan.

I couldn't agree more. He had been hurt so much in the last few years of his career, but he always kept on playing, unlike some of the newer bowlers, who could take some lessons from Wasim in resilience. coughShoaibcough.

I really do hope his record stays unbroken. As sacrilegious as it is, some journalist once called him 'God's Left Arm'.

Wasim bahi is great! No one can break his record of 502 wickets in odi,Wasim bahi you are the best bahiiiii.

No chance for any Indian to break this record in near future.

Closest chance would be Murali. But I would love this record to be with Wasim

Well Shoaib does not need to look at Akram for lessons, after the last test at Bangalore, Sami can teach him these things! Even Rana Naved bowled with more heart than Shoaib has ever shown.
