Bracken is been known as a very good effecient bowler who has a good angle as hes a left hander and can swing and cut very well.

Johnson on the other hand is still learning and may need a bit more time at shield level.

Johnson's stats

Bracken has a first class bowling average of 26.08

It questions me why Bracken isnt given another go in the team considering the last time they given the ball to him in test is 2005-6.

So bowling line up will be

Bracken
Lee
Magill
Clark

If anyone could share their opinion it would be great.

Bracken's strengths are his variations. He tends to get wickets by foxing the batsmen into playing certain shots to the wrong balls. That might be less effective in Test cricket given that there is no pressure to score runs.

Also, it seems Ponting and Mitch have some under-the-table deal going.

The answer is that he is a One Day specialist. He doesn't take enough wickets in test cricket, whilst Johnson is an aggressive bowler who can. Bracken is a great bowler, but he has not shown enough to suggest that he has a future in the test team.

KP was well good when he had flash hair :(

I don't know why he hasn't had more of a chance, his economys still very good and he's had to play against some tough sides, deserved more of a chance imo.

India smashed Aussies all over when he was playing last time in test matches. Maybe Aussies thaught that if guy cant bowl against India he cant bowl anywhere.

Bracken won't be a Test player for Australia. Ever since his last Test series (years ago), he has been labeled as a "One-Day" specialist even though he cleans up in FC matches in Australian State cricket. There is the "he doesn't have enough variation with his bowling" to be successful in Tests. Well, he swings the ball when he gets the new ball, and is good with the old one in OD matches. But in Test Cricket, keeping it tight isn't good enough (what Bracken does in OD matches without the new ball), he needs something except angle, which at 130km/h's wont worry many batsman. He has a killer slower ball which is super effective in OD matches but in Tests you cant bowl a slower ball every over because the batsman aren't trying to go after you all the time so they can play it easily.

Pretty hard done by if you think about it, had one not so good Test series, then shelved for the rest of his career. I hate Johnson, but Bracken even more because he looks gay.

I guess Australia are spoilt for choice with a lot of pretty good bowlers. He seems more handy in ODIs. I think most other test sides would have him included though.

Bracks is not playing tests becasue we are quite happy with Stuey clark :)

I am surprised that the Aussies don't have a left-arm seamer in the side for each test match. If you look at England's case, they have bowled much better when they have had Sidebottom (left-arm seamer) playing.

Haha, I have always wondered what Ponting does with some bowlers. ;)

Nowadays, they do have a left arm seamer in the form of Mitchell Johnson.

Oh my bad, I thought he was a right-arm seamer. Well in that case then he seems to me that Johnson is a better bowler than Bracken and there is no way Lee and Clark are going to be taken out of the side.
