Will Australia avoid whitewash?

It seemed not that long ago that others cowered at Australia's batting might. Batsmen like Matthew Hayden, Ricky Ponting, the Waugh twins, Michael Hussey and Adam Gilchrist often ran up huge scores at frenetic run-rates, leaving adversaries defeated and demoralized. They played with such confidence and verve that even the loss of quick wickets at the top of the order never curbed their aggression nor their resolve to drive opponents into the dust; to overwhelm them so thoroughly that they opt to surrender rather than to stand and fight.

Id settle for 4-1 to be honest. But who knows, 5-0 is still a possibility. :)

meh, always difficult to predict whitewashes since there are a number of factors like off days and strong efforts, weather, complacency etc. Say England score 500, the aussies score 350 in reply and England then overdo a target and use up precious time meaning the aussies draw batting last.

The aussies in their pomp didn't whitewash England, they did in 06/07 as their stars closed out their career after England had won back the Ashes for the first time since 1987.

Is it Glenda that banged on about 5-0s all the time? Just let your cricket doing the talking.....................

I wasn't wrong, a "strong day" for the aussies on the 1st day making for a big total and even if the aussies don't win, it will be hard for England to..............

Do we now move on to discussing 4-1 vs 4-0?
