Its winter here so i'm playing hockey but has anyone got any tips for how i can practice on my own, apart from the bradman one whih i;ve heard 196745486858684769694.75758478585849 times
1) i practice batting by getting a ball and a wall. just throw the ball against the wall and practice hitting it. this helps improve technique(it did for me anyway).
2) For bowling get some stumps to put in your garden and bowl at them. You can also try to develop different deliveries e.g. slowerball, insing etc.
hitslburg. what its called here. one man bats whoever bowls him out gets to bat do that for about half hour. Then do some feilding set up some single stumps thro them in but get someone to hit then in at you with variation. Then either have a corky mess about with mates or tennis, or just play 'backyard' cricket with friends or family etc...........
Keep running up and down your house with your bowling action without a cricket ball...
I haven't figured out a good on for batting yet. Best idea I have is get a ping-pong ball and one of those tiny novelty bats and toss the ball against the wall and play it as it comes to you, just to get focus and such up. Using one of those super bouncy balls helps if you struggle to get on the back-foot quick enough.
