My nephew's Xbox 360 has been vertical since the day he got it, but there have been two fairly recent incidents of the disk tray jamming.
When it happened today, after unjamming it using the pin method, I noticed that it refused to open when vertical. So I tried it horizontal and now it appears to be opening and closing without any problems.
So my question is, do you guys have your console vertical or horizontal? Are there any overheating issues with having it horizontal and if so, can you get something that raises it off the desk a little so the air can circulate from above and below? I've read many posts that say keeping it vertical is more likely to cause it to overheat as it blocks the vents on the bottom, but if it's horizontal, there are another bunch of vents that get blocked, no?
Either way, it seems to prefer horizontal as far as the disk tray issue goes.
Your thoughts?
Edit: It's this one:
