I see quite a few threads these days about viruses/trojans etc and I was wondering what you guys do to protect yourself.

I've just ditched Norton AV which will make my computer run a lot faster if it does anything!
I had Zone Alarm but it was messing up my LAN so now I use Grisoft AVG Pro and the Windows XP Firewall.

Well, ZoneAlarm is the most effective in my opinion but i have a problem with it as it slows down my system! ( so in worst case i used to shut down the ZA :D and then after usage i generally scan the system and then use ;))

I use the combination AVG Pro and Zone Alarm!

I was using AVG Home (the free one), but then I started getting blue screens and found out on another forum that corrupted AVG updates was the cause. I tried Avast! and really liked it (its another free edition, basically its difficult for me to buy anything online).
I also have ZA for the firewall. Works fine, my comps pretty good so I dont notice any slowdowns.

Panda Titanium 2006 has been the best firewall/anti-virus/spyware solution i have ever used, and continue to use.

well i use McAfee Firewall, Anitvirus and spyware detection...

I use Zonealarm firewall and NOD32 anti virus.

I use comodo Antivirus and Comodo Firewall, both free FOREVER.
Great protection with them

I use Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 (Antivirus + Firewall and many other protective programs) and i think it is perfect.. after i installed this i didnt get any virus or spywares.. now you will ask how do you know? Because i do a scan every Sunday night and also if a virus entres it just executes it automatically.

I had Norton Antivirus 2005 90 days trial version before.. my system was working normally so it wasn't bothering me but what bothering me was that it wasn't really doing its work correctly.

I then installed Kasper and it found many viruses which Norton didn't even have a clue of..

Thanks for that tip Matt, I've just downloaded the firewall (looks so much better than ZoneAlarm, which I used without knowing anything better). I'm sticking with Avast! for antivirus because I only installed it recently, but looks good.

Using ZoneAlarm as my firewall as so many people are, and AVG Free 7.5 as my anti-virus and AVG 7.5 Free Anti-Spyware.

On my laptop its a version of Norton, but since I hardly go onto the internet with it, it's not really that neccessary.

Norton for me, I have had many people complain to me about it not picking up viruses, but it's kept my computer secure for 3 years, what more can you ask?

That it doesn't use 300MB of your RAM running in the background!
