Yousuf would have been number 1 ICC batsman today but for some reason he ahs been removed from test rankings,
yet he is still in the odi rankings.

Either something fishy is going on here or the icc are upto something.

hope they clarify this situation soon and give a logical and reasonable explanation this time.

Complete joke.

They can't take the fact that an ICL batsman is #1 now?

I hope Modi gets arrested, and gets sent to jail for a very long time. Knowing Indian courts (and Pakistani - I'm not taking a jab at India) he can just pay them off, and he'll be set free.

After all, ICC haven't banned ICL (and really have no right to - we've seen the ban overturned in England and Pakistan), so I'm not sure what reason they could possibly have.

Having said that, I hope Yousuf never plays for Pakistan again, just because he took the easy way out. Give his spot to a more deserving youngster.

Reliance Mobile ICC Player Rankings

If you put your mouse cursor in the white space on the right, it says his batting rating is currently 880 as of the last test he played... WHICH IS NUMBER ONE IN THE RANKINGS - Shiv is #2.

Amazing, just shows what incompetent fools run the ICC.

And if you look at Yousuf's page, it gives you only highest rankings, it doesn't say his current ranking is ~~~~

Unbelievable. Absolutely unbelieveable. And the ICC say they never banned ICL - I can only say one thing. Bloody liars.

ICC = Indian Cricket Council

I bet it is because he is Pakistani :p

Shut up. Stop being racist

Anyway, not surprised. Just another joke by the ICC. Said earlier, saying it again- ICC- organization run by a bunch of jokers kicked out of the circus. Removing a player from the Test rankings and keeping him in the ODI rankings......what can I say?

MoYo shouldn't be playing for Pakistan anyways. He chose money over the game, when he already had an assured role in the Pakistan unit as well as many commercial deals back in Pakistan, probably.

He could've just played in the IPL, made a handy $400k or so and continued playing for his country. But he chose money over representing his nation, when he knew he wouldn't be able to come back, and is now banking on his abilities of a batsman to come back. You can't have the best of both worlds.

That's not what Hannah Montana said.

I didn't say he should be playing for the team - I'd rather him not play, no matter how bad our test side gets - but its hypocritical of the ICC because they haven't banned ICL, yet the bozos have taken him off the test rankings because he is technically and legitamately #1, yet they leave him in the ODI rankings.

How can he number 1 if he doesn't play. If a player isn't playing and he's not excluded through injury then he shouldn't be in the rankings, Matthew Hoggards still ranked as the 21st best bowler in the world (off memory ;) ) Can't be. Although it is testament to the short memorys of England fans and stupidness of the selectors.

I disagree with the ICC not standing up and stuff too but if he isn't playing he shouldn't be there.

They more than likely have just hd a brain fart and not noticed him on the ODI rankings whilst on the test rankings him being number 1 meant they obviously had to sort it out.

Then surely the rules need to be amended? Hoggard hasn't played tests for so long and he's still there?

Besides, by your theory, every Pakistani in top 10 of tests should be out, since we haven't played since 2007 thanks to "the West" ;)

I think the rules should be changed yes, at the same time I think Pakistan players should mvoe down the list if they haven't played any cricket. Might not be their fault but if they aren't playing cricket chances are their form will have deteriorated.

Players that are still eligible to play tests should remain on the ICC Players Ranking List imo. Doesn't matter when they played their last test their rankings should be there but points should be taken away if they haven't played a test in a while. Players like Yousuf who arent allowed to play tests/odis anymore should be removed from both lists.

But see, here's the catch. He is allowed to play tests and ODIs by ICC regulations.

By all technicalities, you have to look at this as if Yousuf is injured or being rested, until June 1, when the new regulations regarding unofficial leagues come into play (and I have no idea what these new rules are)

Oxymoron there (twice I have used that word this week :p) He chose money over the game, yet you say he should play for the IPL??? Straight away I see hypocrisy there as many people consider players choosing the IPL as "money over the game."
