just a quickie for you fellow ICC players, at the start of the season when cheaking out the youth players, what are the avg's that you look for in a player (bat & ball) before you sign him?

I have to have 50+ for an average or over 1300 runs at 40+. With the ball any spinner under 30 is good or a quick under 30 will do.

Batting: 200 plus

Bowling: Less than 10 for fast bowlers, for spinners I don't have one yet, but anyone averaging 10-12, I'd sign him.

With my other file:

Batting: 110-120

Bowling: Around 7-8

haha ok....so theres about a one-in-a-million chance of that happening

Not at the stage in the game where he is...

For me, as long as I'm not happy with my current team 40+ for batsmen is enough, 28- for bowlers, but most important is that the youth player costs at least 24k. If I am happy with my current team, that is when 4/5 of my main batsmen average over 50, the youth guys should average high 50s
now the cost should be at least 26k
If my bowlers average under 30 the youth bowlers should averag low 20s high 10s.
In all-rounders, 40+ & 30- is almost always good enough, later on in the game probably 50+ and mid 20s or one better and one less...

The game get's boring when regens take wickets @ 12 and average over hundreds with the bat, pointless.

I signed Norman a RHB/RMF all rounder at the start of the season, he had a 57 bat average and 31 bowl average. He's been a permanent fixture in the side, he adds good balance, yet to register a massive score, taken 2 5 fors though. But he doesn't look that threatening at times.

Murphy, my keeper I signed at the same time, averaging 55 in 2nd XI action, but done nothing with the bat (though Nash has kept him out).

what year are people in to get these players with stupid avg's??? ive never had 1 anything like that

50+ with the bat, below 25 with the ball. For allrounders (Or bowlers who bat and batters who bowl, or keepers) 40+ with bat, -30 with the ball.
For keepers especially, I like those who get a high number of catches and stumpings.

I tend to look at under 25 for bowlers and at least over 40 average for a batsman. The most recent example I can think of is a player averaging 15 with the ball in 2nd XI and he averages a shade under 20 in international cricket.

yeh over 50 and under 25

and spinners under 30
