South Africa Team Discussion

De lange should be there instead of parnell, Simon harmer should be there instead of phangiso and albie morkel/david wiese/robbie frylink should be there instead of behardien.

Ye the odd lack of a proper all-rounder like McLaren or Wiese is threatening to mess up SA balance more than they have been willing to admit and it might hurt their world cup chances in the end. AUS/NZ edge them out in that area significantly.

Don't know much about Frylink, but A Morkel has looked passed it at international level for a while now.

Am I the only one that doesn't class Mclaren as a genuine all-rounder? He's more of a bowler who can hold a bat better than most other bowlers in my opinion.

Maybe but he seemed back to his best after his break/surgery. Would still back him ahead of parnell/behardien.[DOUBLEPOST=1424947187][/DOUBLEPOST]

That's really an issue with all of these current allrounders. None of them are genuine allrounders like brian mcmillan, jacquess kallis, shaun pollock or lance klusenar. Even the likes of Nicky boje and Andrew hall were more allrounders then these guys.

But they have, by quite a big margin. Accept it and move on.

Yes they did but in 2011 India lost to SA and tied vs England in the group still went onto win the world cup. These tournaments as we have often seen is peaking at the right time. We will just have to see how this pans out.

Big game tomorrow need to beat the west indies to get the momentum back.

I have never said South Africa are out of it. I was just replying to his post of "This SA team should not have lost to India".

How slowly Africans are playing today?? Cant believe it  ! Just 68 Runs in 15 Overs with only 5 Fours !!

Pitch seemed difficult to time the ball on at the start and West Indies bowled with some good discipline. We picked it up as the innings went thought, very important in these conditions to keep wickets in hand.

Wickets in hand? Allows you to go big and score well in excess of 300. As proved in this match. This WC is nothing like the last one in Asia, where you could just have a dip from ball one. Conditions are very different.

Yeah They Scored Even More Than 320+

49.6
Holder to de Villiers, SIX, it had to end this way!

49.5
Holder to de Villiers, SIX, length on off stump after going around the wicket and AB gives the crowd behind long-on some catching practice. Fastest 150 in ODIs, it's the highest ODI score in Australia

49.4
Holder to de Villiers, FOUR, clubbed to the long-off boundary! That's his 150 - he had 100 off 52, struck 50 more off 12 balls! Overpitched delivery outside off and AB can hit those in his sleep

49.3
Holder to de Villiers, SIX, shortish and outside off, AB sets up with his legs spread and base set and pummels a six over deep midwicket. 400 well on the cards, even AB 150 can't be too far away

49.2
Holder to de Villiers, SIX, length on middle after he saw AB's back foot move wide outside off, decentish ploy, but he's up against a genius who deposits it in the stands behind square leg.

49.1
Holder to de Villiers, 2 runs, slower delivery outside off, slogs it down to wide long-on
32 Runs Off The Last Over !! My God

What A Man De Villiers You Are
100 Runs Off 52 Balls
His Second Fastest Ton In ODIs
Again More 50 Off 12 Balls
 !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Holder May Be Unhappy With Him. Worst Figures :facepalm -
Jason Holder (rmf) 10.0-2-104 -1 - Look At His Figures !!

400+ Target!!!!!!!!! It Will Be Total Impossible For the Windies to chase this target .
A One Sided Match :)

Good comeback from the boys after the batting vs india. Well constructed innings and AB is a genius:)

And Poor Holder must have been thinking he was going pretty well first 5 overs only conceding 9 runs then to come back and ended up with 100 of his 10.

Slow Innings Of SA Converted into a fast and furious innings in the last few overs

it's amazing what this world cup has shown how you can score an unbelievable amount of runs in the second half of the innings.

what a player AB de Villiers is!

Now The Question Is - Will The Windies Can make it by chasing the score or will simply fall off as the one sided matches ?

Gayle fall off for 3 runs off Abott's swing !

Mission Impossible for the Windies!!. Gayle and Samuels both the centurions from the last game gone for nothing of Abott's nice delieveries :)
