Why do you keep picking out his bad series? He's had several fine series' as well. I'd point them out, but I can be bothered at the moment. A test match bowling average of 35 playing mostly in the sub-continent is quite respectable, with 7 five-wicket hauls to go with it.

Like I pointed out earlier, Yes, his slow cutters did the trick initially. Rightly in 1996-97, he was in peak. But after that, i.e after batsmen figured out, he horribly struggled.
Out of 7 five wicket hauls which you pointed out, he got 4 of those in his first season i.e 1996/97. After that, it's only a ' batsmen showing NO MERCY ' time for Prasad. Infact, he got his 60/96 wickets before 1997. That tells you the story. The fact that, he is a slow below average bowler remains, atleast in my view.
