Following the tri-series in Bangladesh - http://www.planetcricket.org/forums...angular-tournment-ind-vs-sl-vs-ban-61483.html - India will stay on for two tests.

This will be a real challenge for the World No. 1 :sarcasm At least they're playing some test cricket.

Good opportunity for Bangladesh, for their players to get some solid experience

India have`nt played Bangladesh a lot in test cricket ,to be fair:p. Bangladesh have never toured us for a test series and we`ve only played 6 tests against them overall compared to Sri Lanka,NZ or Pakistan who have played them quite ofter.

Good Opportunity for youngsters

This is the perfect opportunity for youngsters to get some cricketing experience at the international level, I think. Not to take anything away from Bangladesh who can be strong on their day but still, they are comparatively less stronger to the world No.1.

On the other hand, defeating Bangladesh might not give them much points in the rankings but its still important when you think of how close South Africa and Australia is to that top spot.

Thanks

There have been 15 Test series' played in Bangladesh:

India: 3 series (5 matches)
Zimbabwe: 2 series (4 matches)
Pakistan: 1 series (2 matches)
West Indies: 1 series (2 matches)
South Africa: 2 series (4 matches)
England: 1 series (2 matches)
New Zealand: 2 series (4 matches)
Sri Lanka: 2 series (4 matches)
Australia: 1 series (2 matches)

So from a touring perspective, we're the only side to go to Bangladesh for 3 tours at the moment (the first being their inaugural Test series--a 1-Test affair). We've already played more matches in Bangladesh than anyone else. This series will just widen the gap.

But they`ve never toured us. Bangladesh have toured every other country in my memory. While we may have toured them more than the others, we have`nt played them a lot since they have`nt toured us like they do with every other country.

I highly doubt If Bangladesh can be any competitive against India unless any miracle happens. Speaking bout reality-currently India batting is toughest out there with two devastating batsmen Shewag, Gambhir followed by Sachin, Yuvi, Dhoni, laxman adding very good depth in their batting line up. And Bangladesh batting are way too erratic. Even on a dead pitch they struggle to score 350+. I reckon the Indian players will be looking forward to boost their individual average. Perhaps shewag breaking lara's record won't be surprising:sarcasm

Will be interesting to see what kind of fight BL put up but I'm not expecting much.

Wont be surprised if Badri doesnt play a test even in this series (unless injuries happen). Hope Ishant goes to Bangladesh. Ideal team to get his form back.
