I am playing as a Batting allrounder (Wrist Spinner)
As a part time bowler I am getting alot of wicket :D

But as a No.3 batsman I am more like a tailender.
Even with front foot straight bat (Stick moved straight)
I am getting bowled on spin bowling, Getting caught on every shot I play.
Highest score in One Day is 21 and 23 in first Class.
More frustrating thing is I am even getting out LBW or bowled or played on even if i defend. :mad

Let me know if you guys have the same issue.

I would hazard a guess, you are probably playing the spin shot to fast. You need to wait for the ball. Try in the nets, put on spin bowling and play blocks.

I was surprised how late you actually need to wait to play a shot to spin bowling.

its tough, we are all struggling, but we have only had the game for 4 days, relax, the more you play the better you will get

if you wanted a game where you can smash every ball, then go play IC10 or some crappy game

This will take time to master, which is what we want

I know its frustrating, but its for the greater good!!

After 2 hrs, I am fine. I am making 30s and 40s regularly now. Mostly getting out on run outs or bad timing. This game needs patience, so dont worry.

Highest score 41 off 18 balls in T20. I am playing okay in T20 but not in First Class and OD matches. I bat at No.2. I think I made a big mistake of becoming a batsman as I won't be able to become a future star soon I guess. :rolleyes

Hi guys, I've also struggled with spin but I've kinda worked it out or it works for me at least. You have yo monitor the field and play the gaps but you can almost every time start unsettling the bowler with well timed shots of your legs. I generally always stand plumb in front if my wicket and play a few leg glances at first to force him to change the field.

Reverse sweep and sweep are powerful tools aswell but they generally work you out and set you up quick if you over use. NEVER go onto the back foot EVER!!!
:)
Once the field spreads to behind the wicket to stop you from playing off your legs and sweeping then gaps will appear in front of the wicket. If there is no long on or long off a powerful blow or two over his head can force him again to plug a hole and expose somewhere else. Normally it opens up either long on or long off, just now keep pushing those gaps for singles and rotate the strike. From here on in, play wherever the gaps appear. Also try not to play straight with spin, results in too many catches unless there is no long on or long off and you can power hit.
Hope that helps guys.

The biggest issue with this game (beside the run out problems) is the batting difficulty vs bowling difficulty. I find batting at amateur suits me the best cause I can dig in and make a hard earned 40-50 with a batter but still get rightfully punished if I play at a ball I shouldn't or get the shot/footing wrong. In amateur t20 I average 6/150 against equal opposition. But then I usually bowl them out for 90 odd off 15 or 16 overs. Which means in career I find bowling perfection. Realistic wickets for a batting allrounder. At times challenging, sometimes luck out with haul and economy. And sometimes I'm cold against established batters (at 60ish runs when I start my spell). But the batting is extremely frustrating and too difficult. Top score of 29 in test, 33 odi and 31 T20. But I average like 6/7 and get way too many ducks lol. Played almost a full season and my bowling stats improve every game and I'd be close to level 2. Lucky to get 2 stat points a game with batting. If career started the bowling at pro and amateur with batting, I'd be over the moon....

Play shots while watching ball as close as possible...While playing strokes initially hold L2+R2 and play for ground stroke which reduces catches....Take your batting stances to Leg-stump

I've had the same issues as everyone else ( Batting all rounder specialising in back foot shots) and have found that if I play anything on the front foot I last about 2-3 balls before I'm out.

As much as I like a challenge, because of the way skills points are earned, you need to try and play off your weaker foot which results in getting out! It's a never ending cycle.

Batting is not tough, I repeat batting is not tough! If you look to score aggressively each & every ball, difficulty is on your technique & temper, not on the game.

I was struggling big time in First Class and ODI level but then came the T20 tournament. I looked to score and I dominated the bowling. My T20 average is 26 at a SR of 137. I applied this aggressive approach at first class to an extent. I find it much easier that way and can now get to double figure much more reqularly.
The thing is that the blocking has been made a fuss in this game. It should be done with sticks only and button press should have not been mandatory in blocking. You are basically asking too much from a player for a block. I find hitting a lot easier than blocking. . That should not be the case. If at all I will love to see blocking altered a bit. In cricket, batsmen sometimes premeditate stroke playing but they seldom premeditate a block. In the game however, I have found out that I have to premeditate to block.
