We?re in the final stages of development of the PC version of Cricket Captain 2014. Many of you will know that we've been moving the game over to a new graphics engine, which has proved to be a tough process and has caused the cancellation of the 2013 iPhone/Android and Mac releases. Some rumors had been going around that we?d given up, but don't worry, we've just been keeping our heads down getting the game finished. The new engine has allowed us to create a new interface, include new stadiums, and provides a unified development platform across PC, Mac, iPhone and Android. It also sets us up for future improvements to the 3D highlights, and will ensure that we can continue developing the game and releasing on new platforms in the future. We?ll be releasing the PC version of the game first, in July, with Mac, Android and iOS versions to follow. Thanks to all of you for the warm messages of support. It means a lot after a "challenging" year.

Wow.. Good news. Probably go for the ios version again.v:clap

Just seen on the ICC forum that it is due for release at the end of the month with more details on the way.

My guess is that we're getting the same underwhelming game we've been getting since 2010. If the developers had something to shout about, they'd have done so by now.

UPDATE: The ICC forums are now talking about a release date in "early August," whatever that means. Still no signs of any screenshots, feature lists, or any assets whatsoever from this game.

If it goes into 'early September' they'll never live it down.

They really need to be more active with speaking with the fans. That is the biggest let down, it doesn't and shouldn't take long once a day just to communicate on the forums with the fans. This latest post is like a politicians answer. Very little answered and more questions to be asked. There is no screenshots or game information and to be fair it is getting rather frustrating.

I'd be fairly interested in this game if they actually made significant improvements/expansions each year. Every time I've played their trial versions over the last few years there seems to be very little difference to when I played it in 2006...

Yea apparently this year is actually supposed to be a pretty big difference in the engine

Well, they posted "screenshots from the new engine" a while ago on their forums - and they just looked like the screenshots from their tablet versions, so perhaps they're standardizing that interface across all platforms now.

This game is need of a serious overhaul - they have a realistic match engine, but they need someone with an expansive vision to take their project forward because it's become stagnant for the better part of a decade now. Otherwise, eventually, Cricket Coach will sort its engine out, and with the gluttony of features and the depth in their database, they'll leave ICC in the dust.

That's something at least - their GUI in the PC version has been in need of an overhaul for a very long time... I'll keep my eye on this as ICC has always been the game that 'feels' most like cricket due to it's very good match engine, but it really needs to reinvent itself in many areas.

So Steam has it coming out on the 9th of August ...
