Bit odd how few balls I got offered to push down leg, but it's nice to have that variety. It's been a bit of a crutch for 4's especially, so I liked that the bowlers took a different tack.

As for my stats on my career so far, which I started on Pro and is now in the second year.

T20 (Matches Played: 28)

Batting
24 Innings, 6 NOs, 101* HS
750 runs scores at an average of 41.67 and 160.94 SR
1x 100, 4x 50s

Bowling
80 wickets @ 4.81 average and 6.56 SR at 4.40 runs/over
BB: 7/8 (the image above)

List A Matches (31)

Batting
30 innings, 3 NOs, 131 HS
1113 runs @ 41.22 average and 122.17 SR
1x 100, 7x 50s

Bowling

63 wickets @ 12.06 average and 22.58 SR at 3.2 runs/over
BBI/BBM 6/28

First Class (30)

Batting
58 innings, 0 NOs, 139 HS
2425 runs @ 41.81 average and 117.54 SR
5x 100s, 18x 50s

Bowling
129 wickets @ 13.19 average and 36.47 SR at 2.17 runs/over
BBI 8/39, BBM 10/61

I'm currently expecting selection for Australia in ODI's and Test matches, a regular member in the T20's (even though I haven't played an international match), a core member of the English T20 cup and a regular member of all other major leagues. (Latest skills are courtesy of the knock above.)

How the hell do you have that many career ranking points in less than two seasons?

I'm onto 490 career wickets and 4492 career runs at the moment. 3928 of those runs are in first class, as well as 325+ of the wickets.

I fully agree there smell some cheat engine going on

Or just a lower difficulty setting.

Once you make international selection those points build up very quickly. I got about 100,000 per year in the Pro difficulty career I did playing only T20 games, starting at 31.

Just got my 500th career wicket - there was a nice piece of commentary I'd not heard before actually saying how it was only a consolation because we were heading for a loss, which was true, we were, and we did lose, but I managed to take a few more quick wickets before the end to get my 10th 5-for! Passed 4500 career runs too...

Simple answer: the IPL.

Just getting selected gets you a few thousand career points and everything else you do in that league gets you far, far more points than you earn in the Shield or the Pura/Ryobi Cup (Aus 50 over competition).

A MOM gets you 4,500 or 5,000 points alone, for instance.

Not to mention you play 16 or 17 matches in the IPL. So if you have a sustained good performance - and I've been smashing it with the ball most of the time - you'll rack up career points very, very quickly.

When you get to the IPL you'll see for yourself.

Doing the training nets every single time helps and making the full use of T20's helps as well.

T20s are probably the most important for the career because you get more opportunities for boundaries, which give you the fastest stat progression. Dancing down the wicket and hitting a single six can get you +4 front foot or straight bat points, for instance.

So just as a reference: here's what you can earn at a maximum from one IPL game.

Batting Pool: 3000
50 or more: 1500
100 or more: 3000
Bowling Pool: 3000
Maidens: 75
5W: 3000
MOM: 4500

So, for instance, that performance with the ball I linked earlier earned me 7,500 points alone without even factoring in my batting or the points from the bowling pool (which would have easily been over 1500).

@dippa - That makes a lot more sense. I'm more into the first class matches, and see the T20s as little more than a nuisance, haha!

I have finally started enjoying List A in the past week or so though, so maybe at some point that'll venture into the shorter games too...

Just clocked up my 5th career century, passing 4000 first class runs on the way. What made it a really nice touch was that we'd probably had a bigger total than we needed for a while, and when I was finally bowled for 104, the captain declared at the end of the over. Thanks, skipper! :D

Would have been a different scenario if he had declared when you were on 99* ...:D

Haha, yeah, definitely! I think from about halfway through the innings, I was thinking "Okay, how long until he declares?" - Haha!

We've still got a whole day to bowl Victoria out, but I don't think we quite needed to set them 540 to win, haha! They only got 184 in the first innings! :lol
