Coming soon....(as soon as my Zimbabwe tour is completed)

Patch: Tutsi v5.2 or later
I will be playing as England. If I get eliminated before the final, then I will play as the team that eliminated me, from there on.

However, for those who have gone through my NZ/Zim tour, I would like to inform that this tournament will be held in India (and not Pakistan and Sri Lanka as joint hosts).
Also just four cities will be host this tournament. Calcutta, Bombay, Bangalore and Chennai.

Full fixtures, squads, groups(no changes) coming up on this thread.

I will be using the latest kits, special Pepsi pitchads, and ICC Champions Trophy Stumps.

Stay tuned..

PAKISTAN vs ENGLAND
ICC CHAMPIONS TROPHY
Group C (Day and Night Match)
Eden Gardens, Calcutta.
calcutta.jpg

Welcome to this Group C match between England and Pakistan here at Eden Gardens, one of the best stadiums in the world. England have just come off a clean sweep of Zimbabwe in the test matches and ODIs, and their confidence is high for this tournament. Pakistan on the other hand had a disappointing home series against India, losing both the ODIs and the test matches.

Conditions: Warm, Sunny, slightly humid but no chance of rain. Its pretty hot and sticky.

Pitch: As most of the pitches in this part of the world, this is a batting wicket, with lots of runs. Normal bounce, fast outfield, and assistance for the slow bowlers. England might have a tough time playing the Pakistani spinners on this wicket. I suggest batting first, as batting second under lights will be difficult, considering the dew factor.

Toss: Inzamam won the toss and elected to bat first. No surprises.

The Teams: Shahid Afridi, Umar Gul, Kamran Akmal, and Imran Farhat have made it into the starting XI for Pakistan.
England are playing two spinners, Ian Blackwell and Ashley Giles. Darren Gough misses out as a result of this.

UPDATE:

PAKISTAN 304/8 (50 Overs)
Yousuf Youhana 121*(129)
Abdul Razzaq 40(22)

I. Bell 2-16
A. Flintoff 2-72

ENGLAND NEED 305 RUNS TO WIN IN 50 OVERS

Just as they do in the real world, Pakistan got off to a shaky start, losing Afridi, Farhat and Hameed preety cheaply. Inzamam and Youhana, the two most experienced players in the side, then built a partnership 73 runs before Inzamam was dismissed by Ian Blackwell. Pakistan would have expected to reach 240-260 at this stage, but thanks to Youhana, Razzaq, Shoaib Malik and Sami, Pakistan posted a huge total of 30. All the England bowlers apart from Ian Blackwell, were hammered by the Pakistani batsman to all parts of the ground. Abdul Razzaq's innings of 40 from 22 balls was fantastic and included 3 huge sixes.

England have a tough task in their hand, as they will batting second under lights, and have to maintain a good run rate throughout the match. England also will have lots of problems tacking the Pakistani spinners. Its virtual knockout in this match, with the winner expected to qualify for the semis.

Stay tuned for the England run chase.
