India's tour of West Indies June 2011

Anyone else thinks, Had Gary was our coach, we would have gone after chase?

I don't think so. We would have done the same thing had Gary been our coach. Its not a coach thing, its about Dhoni choosing to do what he did. We don't yet have the "champion" mentality where we get ruthless.

Vijay had a bit of a go and Raina came in early, which suggests they were interested; just didn't turn out to be that interested. With the time they had, they needed to either score consistently or build up to a lot of boundary hitting and by not taking the last 15, they obviously opted against it. Maybe Kohli could have gone in at 3 to pick up some singles, or even Harbhajan. Ultimately though it would just have been Dhoni throwing things out there, with no guarantee of effort and when he already had the series in his pocket. Most of the innings was just Dravid not really scoring. If the bull was to be taken by the horns, it really had to be he of the middle, not so much his captain in the pavilion.

Alarmingly, that was the West Indies' best innings and match aggregate in 8 months and the longest they've batted in a game since Adelaide, more than a year and a half ago. In both counts, the key player was Gayle.

India should have gone for the win. the ruthless, fearsome tweak everything and lets go for the win attitude is not there. negativity by dhoni which has been apparent but over looked by the WC win is back. will have to be more aggressive here in england lads.

What are you talking about? This is being ruthless. They guaranteed the series win, rather than risking it for a 2-0 scoreline.
