The Australian XI won the Toss and batted first and scored 256/7 before declaring about an hour before Stumps on Day 1 to allow their seamers to have a bowl in Humid conditions aiding Swing.

A brilliant unbeaten 195* to young wicket keeper batsman Zakir Hasan lead a strong Bangladesh A reply of 411 all out as the home side batted on until Lunch on Day 3 to take a lead of 155.
Hasan's innings meant the Australian XI will begin their 2nd innings in danger of a surprise defeat after their bowlers struggled to contain the young Bangladeshi.
Jackson Bird was the pick of the Australian bowlers with 3-58 as team management was possibly made to regret not picking a more experienced bowling attack.
With the wicket set to turn nasty after Tea and to start Breaking Up the Australian XI batsmen will be up against it in their 2nd innings though the Humid condition have passed giving them some respite.

Pitch: - 22 - A carefully prepared home track that will certainly favour the spinners later in the match.
