Legends At Battle XI | And the champions are...

It does not matter what kind of pitch or ground (MCG is heck of a size), you know the team bowled exceedingly well when you have bundled out under 300 twice in the same match and that too in their own backyard.

Yeah. Even Slater was limited to a strike rate in the mid 30s. This team could have really won had Lara and Hooper clicked.

We got to expect that now that they have a world class attack. I would not bank on Hooper to click as much as Richie, Lara and Chanders. Lara in particular has played some of his best cricket against Australia.

Our bowlers were too good for them, the king McGrath was awesome. @Umair2000 it will be good if we give a chance to Justin Langer in place of retired Michael Slater in the next match.

was away due to my computer crash
will be active from next rounds

bowlers bowled well, but batsmen couldn't show what they are

Strategy change. Hassett will be our new skipper. Let Bradman play freely.

Unchanged.

Round 5 fixtures

South Africa A v West Indies B
at Johannesburg

- Very good pitch for batting. Spinners will be required to hold up one end with big totals expected.
- Players unavailable: Clyde Walcott (1 match)

Pakistan v West Indies A at Lahore

- Good for batsmen, but has something on offer for spinners capable of turning it and bowlers with out-and-out pace.
- Players unavailable: none

New Zealand v Australia C at Auckland

- Offers an even contest between bat and ball on a mostly pace-friendly wicket.
- Players unavailable: none

West Indies C v India at Trinidad

- Batting and spin-friendly wicket. Don't make the mistake of playing only spinners though.
- Players unavailable: Javagal Srinath (2 matches), Curtly Ambrose (1 match)

South Africa B v Australia A at Cape Town

- Good batting track that also has a little something on offer for swing bowlers.
- Players unavailable: Glenn McGrath (1 match)

Legends XI v Australia B at Lord's

- Bowler-friendly as usual, but slightly better for batsmen. Teams MUST bat deep.
- Players unavailable: Keith Miller (1 match)

The final round's upon us. The table toppers from both groups are basically through to the playoffs but it's a very close call between those fighting for second place. The two legendary West Indian sides are battling it out in Group A. Group B is even closer with Australia, South Africa and India all at each others throats. This is it.

Please post your lineups. I will take a little while longer to update the statistics. The post-R3 stats can be viewed on post #4 and match links on post #2.

Really need some magic otherwise we are done & dusted.

Richardson in for Campbell
Nixom in for Ambrose

Hoping for a victory in the end

This is a bit confusing because Richardson was in the lineup alongside Campbell last match. So, who comes in for Campbell while Richie opens?
