Mexico Vs Denmark
@ Stadium 1: 19:30

Teams:
Mexico: Perez, Osorio, Marquez (C), Magallon, Castro, Medina, Torrado, Pardo, Perez, Blanco, Fonseca
Subs: Sanchez, Salcido, Naelson, Bravo, Vela

Denmark: Sorenson, Jacobsen, Kroldrup, Agger, Bogelund, Kahlenberg, Poulsen, Andreasen, Jensen, Tomasson (C), Rommedahl
Subs: Christiansen, Gravgaard, Silberbauer, Jorgenson, Bendtner

Match Preview:
A hard match to choose on, Denmark do have some stars through Liverpool defender Agger, Stoke City keeper Sorenson and the two upfront men as well as a young striker starting on the bench who is Bendtner who plays for Arsenal. Mexico on the other hand have a lot of experience with 745 caps between the whole starting XI. Both teams will have a 4-4-2 formation unless any changes occur by tomorrow and both have 2 strikers on the bench, Vela the young Arsenal striker being given the nod over midfielder Mendez. Whether he gets to play in the match for Mexico is a different story but if i have to choose a winner, its on Mexico due to experience.

Kickoff

7th Minute: Mexico under pressure early in the game, Pardo kicking the ball out giving his team time to regroup.

10th Minute: Mexico under more pressure as Denmark open the scoring, Rommedahl unmarked in the box gets a nice ball from his team mate and a one touch finish gives Denmark a 1-0 lead
Mexico 0 - 1 Denmark

Goal.jpg
A one touch finish from Rommedahl gives Denmark the lead.

15th Minute: Mistimed slide tackle by Pardo on Kroldrup gives Denmark a free kick just inside Mexico's half, no card though.

19th Minute: Bad challenge, yellow card given to Perez.

22nd Minute: Shocking defending by Mexico again, and Poulsen slots one in the top right corner with his left foot. It still should have been saved though.
Mexico 0 - 2 Denmark

38th Minute: Tackle by Andreasen to stop Mexico from getting a shot away gives Mexico a free kick in a really dangerous area. He's lucky not to get a card as he was never going for the ball. I guess that Fonseca will take this as he has a good shot on him.

44th Minute: Perez is pushed in the back from Agger and the referee awards Mexico a penalty. This gives Mexico a great scoring oppurtunity just before half time to get back in the game. Fonseca to take the penalty.

45th Minute: Fonseca puts it home, too easy and Mexico are back in it.
Mexico 1 - 2 Denmark

Goal_3.jpg
Fonseca puts his team back in the game through a penalty.

Half Time the score Mexico 1 - 2 Denmark, Mexico although looked shaky in defence.

53rd Minute: Kahlenburg misses a golden oppurtinuty to put Denmark further in the lead, goalkeeper stranded but shoots well wide to the right.

56th Minute: Poulsen gives away a foul very close to the penalty box but Mexico will still be able to score if they put the free kick on target.

57th Minute: No power behind the shot and Sorenson makes an easy save.

61st Minute: Medina puts pressure on Bogelund who is forced to run it backwards but makes a mistake by not kicking it behind for a corner and loses the ball a metre away from the goal where Medina picks up the ball. Sorenson's dive at the ball missed and Medina runs the ball through the goals for a weird goal and one to put them back level.
Mexico 2 - 2 Denmark

63rd Minute: Free kick to Denmark in a strong position. Torrado also given a yellow for a hard tackle on the attacker.

64th Minute: Free kick by Andreasen goes over the bar and Mexico are let off the hook. Goal kick.

67th Minute: Nice free kick from Fonseca is well pushed away by Sorenson and cleared upfield. Fonseca has played well this game.

71st Minute: Perez comes in and catches Jacobsen's back leg and the referee shows him the red card and he has to leave the field. That was pretty stupid, Mexico have the momentum with them at the moment.

Slide_Tackle.jpg
Perez sent off after slide tackling Jacobsen on a run down the wing.

74th Minute: Jacobsen hasn't looked too good after that challenge and has been replaced by Gravgaard. Better safe than sorry I guess.

76th Minute: Mexico also have decided to make a change but upfront instead. Vela on for Blanco, trying to force a result in this game.

79th Minute: Beautiful goal, Torrado putting it nicely in the top right corner to take Mexico into the lead with about 10 minutes to go.
Mexico 3 - 2 Denmark

Celebration.jpg
Torrado celebrates after maybe a winning goal for Mexico.

88th Minute: Well Osorio might have just won it for his team. Well timed tackle on the right winger wins the ball back very deep in their own half and Mexico have come away with it. Osorio hasn't been involved in the game too much though.

Full Time the score Mexico 3 - 2 Denmark, Mexico just getting across the line.

Goals: Rommedahl, 10th min (Denmark)
Poulsen, 22nd min (Denmark)
Fonseca, 55th min (Mexico)
Medina, 61st min (Mexico)
Torrado, 79th min (Mexico)

Match Review:
A close match in the end. Stats are surprising. Mexico scored 3 goals from 4 shots on goal while Denmark scored 2 goals from 7 shots. Denmark spent 2/3 of the game in offense yet only had 40% of the ball. From these stats, you see that Denmark quickly got the ball into the offensive zone and had shots when they shouldn't have while Mexico moved the ball around the field while moving slowly up the field and giving them the best chance to score by moving into the right position to score. Mexico looked nervous in the first half unable to make anything and not marking up and being able to tackle the attacking player. A goal before half time got them back on track and played well from then on winning 3-2.

The story is getting interesting, but you forgot about a player like Dos Santos for Mexico.

hes one of the reserves but as i was saying, mexico is using a more experienced team as dos santos is 20 yrs old and has 11 caps.

Japan Vs England
@ Stadium 3: 13:00 kickoff

Teams:
Japan: Narazaki, Komano, Nakazawa (C), Tanaka, Uchida, S. Nakamaru, K. Nakamura, Abe, Inamoto, Tamada, Okubo
Subs: Kawaguchi, Konno, Endo, Ono, Maki

England: Robinson, A. Cole, Terry (C), Bridge, G. Neville, Beckham, Gerrard, Lampard, J. Cole, Heskey, Rooney
Subs: James, Ferdinand, Lescott, Wright-Phillips, Bent

Match Preview:
England should easily progress through this group with not too much trouble as Ukraine would be the next best team and Japan and Saudi Arabia shouldn't give them too much trouble. They should comfortably win this game even with a few reserve players such as Bridge, Nevile and Beckham who is starting to fall below international level. England have 2 defenders on the bench who are Ferdinand and Lescott, Ferdinand probably would have been chosen instead of Bridge if it was against a tougher opponent. It was a hard choice for who the striker was on the bench but it came to Darren Bent in the end over Crouch and Defoe. Japan do still have a chance though even if it is a little one which includes the 2 Nakamura's who are very strong in the midfield area. Japan's midfield is there strongest point with a lot of players who can play there and is why they have 2 midfields on the bench. Tamada will also be able to cause a lot of trouble upfront but the midfields will have to play well for him to create some chances. My prediction is England 2, Japan 0.

Kickoff

11th Minute: Good attempt by Rooney but well saved by the Japanese goalkeeper.

13th Minute: The Japanese captain, Nakazawa is sent off for a disastrous challenge on Rooney

slidetackle.th.jpg

Nakazawa is sent off for this challenge.

14th Minute: Good free kick and Heskey is strong with the head and it flies into the back of the goal and England are looking good early.
Japan 0 - 1 England

15th Minute: Yellow for Ashley Cole, free kick to Japan.

18th Minute: The Japanese are trying to keep the ball and Heskey plays the man and not the ball and gets a yellow for doing so.

21st Minute: Well it looks like England are getting frustrated and agressive, thats the sixth foul they've commited and thats a yellow card for rooney for a bad attempt of a tackle. Japan have had 65% of the ball so far and are getting into some rhythm now.

22nd Minute: Well another foul by England and its cost them this time. Beautiful free kick from Nakamura goes through the England wall and the keeper has no chance.
Japan 1 - 1 England

38th Minute: Nice run down the wing by Joe Cole who takes it in towards the goal and chips it over the keeper to put England back in the lead.
Japan 1 - 2 England

42nd Minute: Gerrard shows his ability beating two defenders and shoots from 25 yards out. It goes on to come off the crossbar, onto the post then it comes down and the keeper makes a bad mistake and the ball comes off him and goes him. Goal awarded to Gerrard though.
Japan 1 - 3 England

Goal.jpg

Narazaki hits it back into the goal as England look like running away with the match.

Half Time the score Japan 1 - 3 England. England have been more ambitious with 8 shots on goal to Japan's 2 even though Japan had slightly more possession.

53rd Minute: Japans free kick attempt from close range is blocked by the wall. Would have been trouble there if it had beat the wall.

56th Minute: Oooh, the deflection off the deadly England free kick nearly goes into the goal but just goes wide and lucky for Narazaki that it happened.

60th Minute: Its all over now, Beckham finishing it off to take England to a 3 goal lead.
Japan 1 - 4 England

65th Minute: K. Nakamura booked for a mistimed tackle and England will have a free kick.

69th Minute: Substitution will be made. Maki on for Tamada. This wont change much though.

84th Minute: Some substitutions are going to be made. Endo on for Abe for Japan and Lescott will be given a run in place for Ashley Cole for the last 5 minutes.

86th Minute: Endo given a yellow for a dangerous challenge. It means nothing this late in the game though.

87th Minute: Bad decision, Maki given red for a good challenge on the attacking English player. Got the ball perfectly but its not what the ref sort and he has to leave the park.

Slide_Tackle.jpg

Maki sent off for a perfect challenge.

88th Minute: Rooney scores late to add to Japan's misery.
Japan 1 - 5 England

91st Minute: Bridge booked at the death, they might not like the way they've come away with this game.

92nd Minute: Lescott has been given a yellow and a penalty for which Japan to score off.

92nd Minute: Conselation goal to S. Nakamura to finish off proceedings.
Japan 2 - 5 England

Full time the score Japan 2 - 5 England. England dominated and came away with the right result.

Goals: Heskey, 14th min (England)
K. Nakamura, 22nd min, 92nd min (Japan)
J. Cole, 38th min (England)
Gerrard, 42nd min (England)
Beckham, 60th min (England)
Rooney, 88th min (England)

Match Review:
A game which England ran away with in the end. England opened the scoring but then got frustrated as Japan took all of the possession which ended in a few yellow cards being shown and an equaliser even though the Japanese captain was sent off early. England got back some rhythm as they took 2 quick goals before half time to take a 3-1 lead. Japan continued to play poorly resulting in more goals before a few fouls at the end gave Japan a consolation goal. Ball possession was 50-50 but England spent nearly 3/4 of the game attacking. England ended up with 17 shots compared to Japan's few. England came away with a win but a few bookings could prove costly. A. Cole, Rooney, Bridge and Lescott all shown yellows and will have to be careful to avoid a suspension.

Good win for the Pommies, the Japanese were disappointing, they werent a bad side.

ok a few questions about suspensions, firstly is it 1 or 2 week susp. for a straight red and how many yellows = one match ban

Norway Vs Cameroon
@ Stadium 5: 12:15 kickoff

Teams:
Norway: Johnsen, Riise, Hangeland (C), Holiand, Waehler, Pederson, Andresen, Grindheim, Wisnes, Carew, Iversen
Subs: Opdul, Vertelsen, Haestad, Solli, Braaten

Cameroon: Kameni, Atouba, Song (C), Binya, Deumi, N'Kong, M'bami, Makoun, Geremi, Eto'o, Webo
Subs: Hamidou, N'Koulou, Epalle, Saidou, Kouemaha

Match Preview:
A tough match this will be for Norway but they still have a chance at this. If Norway can get away with a good start, maybe just a few calls to go there way, a bit of luck and some Carew magic to put them on the board they will have a good chance at this. They're strongest point would be the midfield with stars such as Pederson who can score some goals and is known for his aerial ability which Cameroon will have to look out for. Cameroon will be favourites for this game with a very strong midfield, M'bami and Makoun playing for 2 of the top clubs in France (Lyon and Marseille) and Geremi who plays for Newcastle. Mbia also playing for Stade Rennais in France was unlucky to miss a spot in this encounter. Samuel Eto'o, who would have to be Cameroon's best player in history will be looking to guide his side home with a few goals. My tip is Cameroon 1 - 0 Norway

Kickoff

8th Minute: Grindheim given a yellow. Harsh call, I thought he got the ball.

13th Minute: Hangeland slides in dangerously and the ref gives him a yellow. Free kick in a dangerous area for Cameroon.

18th Minute: Norway moving the ball around nicely keeping possession and at last a free kick for Norway, the defender pushing the right back to the ground after he got passed the ball.

20th Minute: That shot from Wisnes was never going to trouble the keeper as he catches it easily on the full.

24th Minute: Grindheim is sent off, a second yellow and he must leave the field. Free kick in a very dangerous area for Cameroon.

Slide_Tackle.jpg

Slide tackle from Grindheim only gets him a second yellow.

25th Minute: Now that was stupid from the keeper. He came out of his 6 yard box and its easily put past him by Eto'o off the free kick.
Norway 0 - 1 Cameroon

27th Minute: Eto'o with another dangerous free kick comes off the head of Webo and goes past the goalkeeper. Thats what a man down does.
Norway 0 - 2 Cameroon

40th Minute: Beautiful tackle from Holiand breaks down M'bami's free run to the goal as if it wasn't successful, it was the keeper to beat.

Half Time the score Norway 0 - 2 Cameroon

51st Minute: Pederson is brought down just outside the 18 yard box by Geremi who is shown the yellow card.

52nd Minute: Pederson's shot from the free kick is easily saved.

80th Minute: Beautiful save from Kameni denies Pederson a goal.

Full time the score Norway 0 - 2 Cameroon. Cameroon getting home in the end.

Goals: Eto'o, 25th min (Cameroon)
Webo, 27th min (Cameroon)

Match Review:
Cameroon getting home comfortably in the end by 2 goals. Norway played well early on until Grindheim was sent off but then it went Cameroon's way. 2 excellent free kicks from Samuel Eto'o brought goals, one to himself and one to Webo gave them a 2-0 lead at half time. A boring second half brought no goals with only a few chances to either side. Pederson was the only Norwegian player who played well who could have got goals a few times if it weren't for the goalkeeper who made some good saves. The right result in the end though for Cameroon.

Germany Vs Croatia
@ Stadium 6: 15:45 kickoff

Teams:
Germany: Enke, Lahm, Friedrich, Mertesacker, Metzelder, Borowski, Ballack (C), Frings, Schweingsteiger, Podolski, Klose
Subs: Neuer, Hinkel, Hitzlsperger, Trochowski, Gomez

Croatia: Pletikosa, Knezevic, Kovac (C), Simunic, Corluka, Leko, Kranjcar, Modric, Srna, Olic, Klasnic
Subs: Runje, Vejic, Pranjic, Rakitic, Petric

Match Preview:
Germany look the stronger team in this encounter but Croatia have a pretty good chance though. Germany have a great midfield through Ballack, Schweinsteiger, Borowski and Frings. Croatia also have a good midfield through Kranjcar from Portsmouth and Modric from Tottenham who is only 23 years of age. Podolski and Klose will start at the front for Germany and the team will be hoping for them to shine tonight and so will Croatia's starters. It should be a close match but i predict Germany 2 - 1 Croatia.

Kickoff

5th Minute: Friedrich makes a dangerous tackle and is given a yellow.

8th Minute: Beautiful volley and Modric opens the scoring for Croatia.
Germany 0 - 1 Croatia

17th Minute: A nice strike from outside the box by Lukas Podolski puts the scores back level.
Germany 1 - 1 Croatia

25th Minute: Slid in from behind there and the ref gives Kranjcar a yellow. Free kick in a dangerous area.

28th Minute: A header by Olic of an attacking free kick decieves the keeper and goes into the back of the net and Croatia are back in the lead.
Germany 1 - 2 Croatia

Half Time the score Germany 1 - 2 Croatia

50th Minute: A nice free kick from Klose just goes over the bar.

77th Minute: A nice slide tackle at the back from Friedrich stops Croatia from having a shot on goal.

81st Minute: Well that will seal it, Croatia convert their penalty and Olic scores his second goal.
Germany 1 - 3 Croatia

Full Time the score Germany 1 - 3 Croatia

Goals: Modric, 5th Min (Croatia)
Podolski, 17th Min (Germany)
Olic, 28th Min, 81st Min (Croatia)
