Well some people aren't able to get online when the match starts so they could end up with a non playing person through no fault of their own. So a 1 day leeway for Test and 1 match leeway for ODI series allows people that aren't online 24/7 to play with a full side.

but didnt we let people change the non playing players during the game for SL v India and RSA v Eng

I don't believe it was used for SA v Eng but that is a ODI series. The India v SL used it but some of the FC staff didn't like it and it is only 1 match so it should be up to you to pick players that will be playing. Cricinfo had Kaneria bracketed with Ajmal so it was your risk to pick him. Plus there were a few sides that picked players that were never going to play, that shows lack of research which is one of the main FC priorities. For ODIs I'm happy to leave it for now since there are usually 5 matches.

I think we could allow players to replace a non-playing person with their reserves.
The deadline could be the start of the next day's play.

That way,all active members gain an those inactive do not.
