Pakistan had one of their all-time strongest middle order with Younis, Yousaf and Inzamam so there was no place for Misbah. Misbah was actually a replacement/substitute for Inzmam since his debut and hence he batted at the same No.5 position all his career.

Bravo Misbah-ul-Haq, A True gentlemen. Proved with consistent performances in Test cricket and probably the best captain in test history of Pakistan cricket in terms of records. Yes, but he didn't get enough chances. People like Faisal Iqbal and Asim Kamal got more chances than him. And Inzamam's dislike for him was a factor.
