Yeah, I just read this too. Honestly, it makes no sense to include players in the squad that are not fit for the whole series. These two spots could have been given to some new players. That is how you find talent. This is characteristically horrendous management from the PCB.

EDIT: I like your lineup, but I'm inclined to play Faheem over one batsman, probably Asad. I think they might need that fifth bowler in SA.

Shaan Masood looked really solid. Feel for him. Don't understand how Zaman is playing test cricket.

A couple of unlucky dismissals. We would've been 2 down here had Shan did not get out. The pitch has bounce but inconsistent and when you see this inconsistence bounce on Day 1, Session 1. You know the pitch ain't getting better to bat on. Azhar and Babar have to build a partnership now so we can get to around 200-250.

Pakistan have struggled so far, but Babar Azam is on fire and he's hit some sublime shots. Hitting Steyn for four 4's in an over! He has saved Pakistan from a very embarrassing score. Why doesn't he bat higher up?

That was a good fight from Babar Azam some proper cricketing shots to get Pakistan to a respectable 1st innings total after being 100 something for 8.

It upto the Pakistani bowling now which has always been the strength and Key.

Why doesn't he bat higher up

He started his Test career batting at no. 3 and 4. But had some kind of mental block when he wore white kit. But now it seemed he has got the hang of playing Tests. So still don't know why he bats at no. 6.

Getting to 180 still a decent outcome for Pakistan. It looked like 120-130 odd all out for them at one point.

Just looked at the highlights of Babar Azam's inning. Wonderful is too less to describe. Some of the shots he played were delight to watch. 180-200 on that wicket looks good. Pakistan need Amir to step up and step up big.
