The Semi Finals are upon us once again! As expected there are some tough games at hand, and with the ties that have been drawn, are upsets are on the cards?

Cup

First up we have the Raiders Eleven up against the Tom Jones Enthusiasts. The Raiders have managed to to knock out last seasons champs, the BFN Bombers and as such are expected to have a good showing against the most successful team in the competition's history. Similarly, TJE will be keen to make up for last seasons shock defeat to the Verizon Java Kings who find themselves in the lowly Plate semi's this season. The game is sure to be a cracker

Second up we have Mental Blank v Old Wulfs. As the Wulfs were losing finalists last season they would be keen to try and make it there again, but this time go all the way. Will the club which is proud to have the best youth academy known to man be able to hold off the challenge from down-under? Mental Blank have done well to make it this far, although it must be said, that a win from them will be seen as a great upset. However one cannot overlook the improvements made by this Aussie side. So with the home advantage, can they pull it off?

Plate

Golden Warriors v Verizon Java Kings, this is a tough game for the Warriors as they face the giant killing Java Kings. It will remain to be seen if the Kings can dispose of easy opponents as well as they seem to handle teams better than them though. It goes without saying however that there is a chance for the Warriors to do something in this match, especially with the home ground advantage.

The Tassie Titans have a bit of a smorgersbord ahead, the organisers coulddn't fault Willow Wanderers CC or Rawalpindi Monarch for the non-appearance at their last tie. Rumour has it that Livingston Lions manager Highlander is planning a boycott due to his tough tie early on in the competition. What is certain, is that whoever the opponents are, and if the game even gets played, the Tassie Titans are looking at their first appearance in a PlanetCricket.net organised tournament.

Just a reminder that the home team that must make the challenge, if they have not made it by Thursday, we ask that the away team make the challenge, there will be no postponement of games, if one team fails to make a challenge or arranges another friendly, they will forfeit the game. Please note that you have signed up for a championship which will run for 3 weeks minimum and upto 7 weeks for those reaching the final stages.

Challenges can be made anytime before that game, bar international one's which cannot be made on Sunday's or Monday's. Myself and WC will check the fixtures on Thursday to ensure that the game's are in place - but please do not hesitate to post if you have not challenged someone - if they are not, we will be in contact with the home team manager to try to correct this, but please on Thursday the away team should challenge there opponent in any case.

Good luck to all!
