Is there any technical reason why we can't have players batting in their fielding hats?
I understand the current safety aspects but our game has had over 100 years of blokes batting in caps or bare-headed.
I played my entire year and a half cricket career wearing a floppy white sun hat and if I could gather my creaky old bones together to play one more match then I would wear the same old hat again and to splech with the consequences.
I've rung round the boys and Viv and Richie both agree that the option of just the baggy cap is a bit shit.
And let us pick the colour of our lids as well.
If there's a technical issue then all I can say is having Jack Hobbs wearing his proper titfer is more important than bloody rotating ad boards.
