Sadistic, when's Bond due back? In time for the England tour?

Yeah, unfortunately Astle's knee swelled up over night before the state cricket final today, and he missed the match. He had to get a cortizone injection, but it's another setback and he'll probably miss out on selection now for the squad to play South Africa.

No word on Bond yet -- he has said he's aiming for the England tour though, yeah.

1st ODI

Toss: South Africa

New Zealand 225/8 (50 ov) (Styris 60, Cairns 58) (Ntini 2/41, Nel 2/42, Klusener 2/39)
South Africa 226/5 (49.4 ov) (Smith 72, Gibbs 43, Dippenaar 44) (Vettori 2/37)

Result: South Africa won by 5 wickets

Man of the Match: GC Smith

Series: South Africa leads the 6-ODI series 1-0

Looks like either SA cut that fine or timed it to perfection with 2 balls to spare!

2nd ODI

Toss: South Africa

South Africa 253/8 (50 ov) (Smith 80, Rudolph 42, Boucher 40) (Tuffey 2/47, Mills 2/37, Cairns 2/35)
New Zealand 255/5 (45.1ov) (Fleming 108, McMillan 71*) (Ntini 3/45)

Result: New Zealand won by 5 wickets

Man of the Match: SP Fleming

Series: 6-ODI series level 1-1

New Zealand are so inconstistant.

They kick then fail time after time.

Sounds like the All Blacks

Nah, it's more to do with Fleming. If he fires, we always get home. He's scored six hundreds now, all chasing, and we've got home every time. The problem is, if he goes early, the rest of them fold as well.

3rd ODI

Shaun Pollock hit three sixes in the last over against New Zealand at Wellington, but it wasn't enough

Toss: South Africa

New Zealand innings (38 overs maximum) 254/5 (Papps 67, Styris 45*)
South Africa innings 249/7 (38 overs) (Gibbs 69, Prince 45*) Vettori 2/41)

Result: New Zealand won by 5 runs

Man of the Match: SB Styris

Series: New Zealand leads the 6-ODI series 2-1

4th ODI

The umpires have decided to call off the match due to weather and it will be played tomorrow (Reserve Day)
