Starting Game Causes Hard Reset (Help)

Hi all ,
I need your help - have got a pretty good new (ish) system. It plays everything beautifully. Even perennial "nasties" like X3 and Call Of Duty 2.
In fact have loads of games on HD.
Have played ICC since ICC1 in 1998 (had all 6 patches once) Got ICC 2005 - installs fine.
Double click on icon - Xplosive splash comes up (retail version) and then machine hard resets - that's it.

No error message when it comes back "'round" ...just hard reset.

Installed old ICC2002...does the same thing - but preceeds it with a lovely BSOD and "Page error in Non paged error" AND SAYS THAT nv4_DISP.DLL is at fault.

Well I know that that is my main link library for my grafix card drivers.

Anyine else had this problem ? - really don't want to go back to very old drivers - as the performance increase since Nvidia 8X.XX has been very appreciable in everything else (X3 was a dog before the update)

Any help greatfully accepted (with thanks before , during and indeed after)

Ok - After weeks of trying to get around this..I think I have (1 hour after posting here...ironic eh ??)

It's far from a perfect fix but.... I have to disable SLI from the driver settings, then it runs fine.

Shouldn't have to - but hey - it only takes 5 seconds.

Have to remember if I ger big performance drop in another game "Ooops did i turn SLI on ?" Likewise if I get more hard resets and CTD's "Did i turn it off "??

Hopefully NVIDIA can fix this ...hope so (seems more likely Nvidia's problem than Chris Childs')
