Fifa 09

The hopes of all the guys over on the EA Forums have fallen through the floor after seeing the video, but as I said there, I'll reserve full judgement until I've been able to actually play the game.

If the demo plays an enjoyable, fun and flowing game of football, I'll get the game. No matter how good the football in PES is, I always get bored after a few months because of the lack of leagues/tournaments or other stuff to do. I've had it with Master League and only having six leagues in the game.

I'm not saying that Fifa's gameplay is better than PES, but it is by no means terrible, it plays a perfectly good game of football and the defenders don't act like complete retards, frequently leaving you with only one person back, while the rest go out on their own suicide-o-war, every time you attack!

I'm just beginning to think that PES gameplay + PES depth (or lack of it) is not an overall better package than Fifa gameplay plus Fifa depth.

yeah right, i'm never ever ever ever gonne spend money on EA PC, never ever.

Gonne buy it for the PSP though.

Damn, that video really puts one off. EA, you've half messed up again this time. :(

What if you haven't got Fifa 07/08? Would Fifa 09 be worth a look? I haven't bought a Fifa game since Fifa '04 (bought Fifa '06, hated it, returned it). I've played a few demos since then, but not bought a full Fifa game. As I said, I've played the Fifa 08 demo and I quite like it!

So you guys who havn't got a EA PC football game, another reason to buy it is the Manager Mode, you'll love it.

even though, now it feels like time waste playing manager mode, the same stuff every season, it was great first few week.

Fifa 08's only repetitive to me because I've seen amazing improvments in 09. PES has gotten worse IMO after PES5. That's why you can still play it.

Off-topic as this concerns Fifa 08 but I haven't played it in ages apart from a couple matches online due to EA Sports World never working. I just hope it works better woth 09.

If I'm round my sister's bfs again Will, I'll let you know.

How did the Management mode compare to EA's actual Management game? I know they wouldn't include all the features (that'd mean the return of Football Fusion :upray ), but what sort of features are in there? Are there things like youth academies, the ability to chastise/reward players, talks with players, setting ticket prices/sponsors, be offered an international job, build new stadiums and stuff like that? They might add a few new things for '09 as well.

When I had Fifa '04/Fifa Manager '04, I found it impossible to become bored with it, it was so deep and had so many different things to look after, as well as the chance to be offered an international job. EA should seriously think about reintroducing Football Fusion for Fifa 2010.

This game is NOT repetitive!

Just had one of the best games ever with monty57 off here. I'll explain as soon as he posts ;)

Reina should have been given a knighthood before the penalties, seriously. Jesus, the amount of times I've smashed it to the corners and he's leapt across the goal and SOMEHOW got there was unbelieveable. That save off Hunt from the edge of the box was insane. Reaction times - amazing.
