It's a big thing to say, in the sense that it's a very important part of EA's marketing for the FIFA series.
In my opinion FIFA had better gameplay aswell for 08.

Gameplay videos of the console versions.
Also, I don't know what speed this is at but the game will have three settings for speed - slow, medium or fast - one of them is bound to be good.
I like the look of the Arsenal goal on the second vid, it wouldn't have been possible on FIFA 08 because it was from one of the positions where if you aim for the far corner it was always saved.
The PC screens still look crap. Wheres the 360 and PS3 screens?
The FIFA 09 producer is going to say stuff to get people's hopes up though, they aren't going to say anything bad about their own game.
I always take these interviews with producers with a pinch of salt and wait until I see the game in motion on videos or play the games (demo or full game) to form opinions on whether I like them or not - The demo of FIFA 09 (console versions anyway) is September 11th, under a month away, and the PES demo will probably come out around release.
I also wouldn't trust game reviews at all now, they are too influenced by the game developers themselves in my opinion - for example, GTA getting almost universal 10/10s (good game? yes perfect game? no - 10/10 = perfect, therefore 10/10 for GTA IV = wrong) and PES 08 getting any sort of decent score is wrong. Also, IGN have advertising boards in PES (did in 08 anyway), so I would definitely steer clear of trusting their score and review.
