29/7 – Final Match One

I just wish the thread had been posted once the 3rd/4th and 5th/6th playoff matches were completed. I'm usually on PC a lot and I've been diligent (along with Cricketman) about posting teams at the right time and a convenient time for the opposition to respond with their teams. But, unfortunately, this match was put up at a time when it would have been impossible for both of us to even know that the thread was in existence, unless we had a dream that conveyed the fact to us and the time allotted, so that we could have forgone sleep for the day and sleep walked to the computer to put up the team. The clash of time zones is unfortunate, but it's not a reasonable excuse. I hope we will take the fair way out and re-sim this game.

That's about the 5th time I've said that now. We're sorry about the inconvenience about the thread being posted at the wrong time and I'll take the blame for that. Unfortunately, I had to help organize the start of the Battrick Leauge and the Football leauge and I just forgot about it.

The times zones are difficult, and I plan to introduce something which will help teams AND will still continue to make sure teams are posted on time!

I can handle it. I've got a two week holiday from Friday anyway so after that rest I'll be up for doing all that and 1/2 stories.

Well in comparison we're not too far from each other and the exact same thing happened here!

Perhaps it's because our team has been the victim before, but I agree (and I hope Matt does as well) that this should be resimmed. There was no possible way for the Champions to post the team given that the match thread was put up so late.

In fact, I think the organizers should not even defer the decision to the Monkeys because it is their responsibility for ensuring that all associated officials can reasonably post the team.

I've always disagreed with the rule of a reverse team for people who don't get their team in, moreso in a final.

I'm agreeing to a resim for the following reasons:

• It is a hollow victory to win against a team that is under its normal strength
• The game was incorrectly simmed in the first place, they still had internationals in their reversed line up
• The fact Dublin didn't get a reversed team in the 3rd/4th playoff
• The rule is and always has been stupid and they didn't have much time, the thread should have been posted earlier rather than the 45 minute delay.
