Refreshing. I like it.

quality :p

Well, he has been offered another central contract...

Back on topic, is Fifa 09 PC demo coming tomorrow or Friday? No-one in EA forum land seems to know for sure.

Apparently, it's going to take up 4.4gb on PC demo! Unless they can compress that significantly, I'll have to wait for PC Gamer to oblige.

MasterBlaster76 added 0 Minutes and 40 Seconds later...

The PC demo is Friday I think, not 100% sure.

I'll be downloading the demo on my 360 as soon as I get home :) I'm sure it won't dissapoint me - I hope we can play 4 min halves instead of just 2 like usual on the demos on it.

I think it's a whole match this time round. Bit annoying there's no Man Utd. Still, it's less than a month now until the full game's released.

Ah streaming the england game now, will download overnight to try tomorrow. Cheers.

I've played a couple of games on it, and it seems quite good. The mouse controls works fairly well and it makes it all the sweeter when you manage to create a chance. The game speed is fairly realistic as well as the physics being much improved.
That new collisions system is also fantastic, if the same one is in the console versions I will be very happy, crunching tackles look nasty and little clips make the player stumble slightly, as well as the deflections being good.

The game runs really badly on my computer though but it is just about playable, on a top computer with top resolution, high settings, high AA etc I think it would look great.

It's the old engine, but they have polished it well and it seems like a good game from the few games I have played - it may well be the best football experience for PC this year.

The console demo tomorrow will make this look really bad though :p.

Well I've played a few matches now, full settings, 8xAA and and 16xAF, and the game does look very swish. Some lovely lighting effects and so forth, and the pitch is very nice too. As for the game itself - fairly impressed. This is the first PC FIFA I wouldnt object to buying. It feels a bit faster than last years, and the beach ball effect appears to have gone. I was a bit annoyed at the lack of setting adjustments, but its EA so it was always expected, and a demo expander will fix that.

My only quarm was heading. Perhaps I'm used to PES so much it just feels so predictable. When heading I always get a great connection, no scuffs or anything. Maybe my timing is actually really good and I dont realise it.

Anyway, I'll wait now for the PES demo to see what I'm going to purchase this year.

Cheers for the download link, downloading it now.

Ordered the PS3 version from Game online the other day, should be class.

Ah damn, thats a bit annoying, it doesn't support my graphics card. Ah well, will probably try it on the newer pc downstairs tomorrow, depending on what time the PS3 demo is released.

I'm pained to say it, but well done EA, you've released a PC game which isn't horribly optimized and plain crap. I'm actually enjoying it, definately buying as I want to play as my beloved Huddersfield, something I've always missed out on.

Just tried it on my sister PC too, ATI X1650 512mb, 1.5gb of RAM and a Pentium 4 2.66ghz, and it ran on High settings with Post Processing and DOF, but no AA, and no slowdown at all. Good lord, an EA game that is optimized? That computer is fairly naff yet it looked great and ran smooth as a nut.

Now for PES, FIFA has set this years benchmark, and I'd like PES to at least match it. Lets hope they've pulled out the stops.
