Prince Of Kolkata Set To Retire

. He was an arrogant, self-obsessed, petulant, bully of a spoilt child, but this isn't to say he wasn't a great cricket. He just wasn't a great guy.

God I hate it when people do this.

You have never met the man, how can you possibly say he wasn't a good person if you haven't met him? Yes, I agree his on-field and sometimes off-field behaviour to do with cricket was very unsavory at times but I don't know... I don't think it's fair to say that.

Just one thing last thing lads - He has,is and will always be the world's best offside player... !
Everytime I see him bat, he gets out on the off-side?

The guy has a relatively poor technique for an International cricketer, I'm supprised his had so much success. His not even close to being one of the best off-side players, in any era.

Btw,any idea on what he'll do after he retires ?
I'm guessing cricket commentary-maybe with ESS

I wish he is a commentator. Would love to hear a lot from him about his life while in cricket.

Pfft.

The guy hits good balls for four. At times, Ganguly is simply brilliant. Those shots through cover/point/gully are amazing.

I see a good banter is going on so, I must join in.
Ok, Ganguly ran Tendulkar and Dravid out, made a 100 and got out himself, lost the champions trophy to pityful NZ team.

^Oh yeah and that sums up all of his carreer

At times Ganguly is simply brilliant? His made 1 double hundred in about 110 Tests and about 3 other players in his team made 100's along side him in that innings.

Allot of players in International cricket hit 'good balls' for four.

No one is making claims that he is a Test match legend. But he was a brilliant ODI player and part of one of the most (if not the most) successful ODI opening partnerships with Sachin Tendulkar. Critics and well-wishers alike have agreed on one point, and that is that he is one of the top players in the world on the off-side and a great timer of the cricket ball. Even a whole lot of bias cannot get around that.

Your point?

Ganguly isn't a Tendulkar or Ponting but he at times plays like a freak. I don't mean the times when he gets 100, I mean the times when he walks out and taps the ball in between point and gully for four. It's brilliant and I don't know any other players who do that shot.

That's my point. Refuting it isn't worth anything because there is nothing to refute. If Ganguly was Australian you'd agree with me. This is proven by your signuture which stated Tendulkar is Siddle's bunny.. Riiighhhttt.

Please guys. 100 Posts to discuss who's the best. What you'll get by all this? fuss?

Let's hope him for a great life and stop this. > 100.

Afridi plays like a freak sometimes aswell, so does Dhoni.
If you want to talk about someone who taps the ball with brilliance or hits the ball with little effort then Laxman tops my list.

Why would I support Ganguly? He wouldn't of even played International cricket if he was Australian. His clearly one of the most overhyped and overrated batsman of the current era. If he was Australian then I'd feel similar to him as I feel about Mitchell Johnson.

I could name atleast 10-20 players who are better off-side players then Ganguly.
