IGN: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Revealed

That's right, folks. Infinity Ward returns. After their award-winning masterpiece last year, Modern Warfare is now to have a successor arriving some time next year.

No further details of the game are known at this point. And without boring people to death with my opinion on IW's either iteration ;), I'm absolutely stoked for this.

Discuss.

P.S: Oh, btw. Does anyone else expect to see Sgt. MacTavish return as a minor character in this game?

It'll be miles better than COD5. Infinity Ward know how to spend 2 years and actually make a good game. COD5 is basically COD 3.5. Treyarch seem incapable of innovating, and are happy just making incredibly dull WW2 games. COD: Modern Warfare 2 is set in the future, and so will be innovating far more than any of Treyarch's games. Really looking forward to it, going to be a heck of a game.

I hope Gaz is in it again.
He's dead. I doubt anyone can survive being shot in the head at point-blank range.

Having said that, I want to see more of that legendary handlebar moustache of Captain Price's.

I always thought how perfect it would be for Treyarch (and the series) if they released WaW as CoD3. One thing I don't get from your post is the "set in the future" part, isn't this game called Modern Warfare 2?

If I'm honest, I prefered CoD5 to CoD4. I'm not too keen on the modern side of it, I'd much rather be playing back in WWI or WWII. I'm sure it'll still be a great game though.

Though Infinity Ward is thought to be at work on a futuristic science fiction shooter, it's more likely that this is the touted new IP for the company rather than the introduction of ray guns to the series.

It's rumoured that this will be COD:MW2. Not entirely sure though.

Got a suggestion about Modern Warfare 2? Tell Infinity Ward.

I thought that was Captain Price .

CoD 4 S.A.S Storyline lesson 101: ;)

Warning: Contains SIGNIFICANT spoiler content from the plot of CoD 4: MW. Do not click if you haven't played the game - unless you can't be arsed to care.

Gaz second from left. Cpt. Price second from right.

Yeps, I have a suggestion for them: Make the singleplayer campaign much longer, as long as CoD 2 would be ok for me. Online is nice and all, but it's also great to have a decent campaign to get into, 7hrs is nothing!

COD4 Single player was probably one of the most epic things I've ever played. Was especially fun playing as Captain Price!

Read somewhere it was called COD6:MW2

Your eager.

Looks gun though
If you were talking to me, then hell yes. CoD4 campaign was undoubtedly one of the best I've played. I really, really enjoy modern politics and the political landscape, and the story of the game just proves how authentic an experience that can be. Want to say more but don't want to give anything away for people who never played the game.

That's probably one of the obvious suggestions, but I would take quality over quantity any day. And that's what CoD4 was, IMO - pure quality. Btw, how long was CoD2's sp campaign?

They dropped the numbers after CoD4 - that's why World at War wasn't called CoD5. Same with MW2.
