Story A Story of an Indian||Episode 7b out.||

Well, its me, Binnu, writing a new carrier based story of himself.
Previously, I tried writing many stories but I failed do complete them like "Indian Premier League, The Whole new cricketer's carrier etc etc. But the Ganguly Gilchrist Trophy was successful up to some extent but I will have to complete it totally. The Inspiration for this story was Suren Ram bro's "Born To Fight..." story. Now, This story is based on a cricketer, whose aim was to play for India and for any team of IPL. The entire story is personally thought and some scenes may be similar to Suren bro's story. The total story is based on the game developed by E.A.Sports Cricket 2007 and I thank Rahul Mitra (I dunno his user name but I seeked his help in Orkut. He is also in Planetcricket.) and Shashidharan's total patching team as I used Shashi's patch and Rahul Mitra's Roster. I even thank the tutorial writers for editing Cricket 2007 as its all because of them, the patches are being made.

Don't do anything that you know you will get frustrated with later and make updating feel like a chore. Stick to things your comfortable with.

Yeah, with my IPL story. I like doing it but making the scorecards is way too hard work so I don't update very close together unless I don't have to do a scorecard. i.e training session.

Yes, stick to the things which you are comfortable with it. Form a story line and develop the story around that. Also, I would like to remind you the new story line rules changes where a write can atmost manage 2 stories at a time. This was introduced to prevent the frequent switching of stories from writer's view & to develope the interest in writers' mind to stick with a story consistently.

Good luck for this and I am sure, you can do it.

At my residence​

I came up and saw the phone. It was my friend Vishal Nachem Calling. I attended the call.
He asked me whether I was free that time. I replied that I was free. So, he said that he'll be coming to my home for solving some doubts in Chemistry as my aunt is a Chemistry lecturer. I welcomed him.
After I hung up the phone, I took chemistry reader and Prepared well for the forthcoming 11th public examination which was scheduled on 18th of march, 2009. After 45 minutes,
"Please open the door, a guest waiting outside...Please open the door, a guest waiting outside...Please open the door, a guest waiting outside..."
The calling bell rang.
It was my friend Vishal. He came in and he clarified all the doubts he had.
It was 06:30 PM in the evening when he completed the clarification. Then I switched on the Television and was turning the channels. The match played between India and England at Bengaluru was being Repeated in Neo cricket's program called "Encounter". He asked me whether I was attending selections for Vijay Hazare trophy on 18th. I answered him that I was busy in studies and I may not attend as I din't had practice for over one and half month.
Then, our coach called him and asked whether he was going for selections. He replied the same thing which I replied him few minutes ago.
Then, I gave him send off in my bike to his home.
After I returned, It was 09:00 PM and I ate some food and slept off.

Date:- 17th March, 2009.
Place:- at my residence.​

I got phone call from my local coaching coach. He said to attend the selections despite of your play gap. He even gave me potential by giving few examples where the people go selected even though they were off the ground for many months.
I said that I'll go to selection.

Then, I called up Vishal and said that I was going to attend the selections.
He was happy to hear that word and said that he even would attend.
The total day was spent for my beloved subject "Chemistry"

Date:- 18th March, 2009​

The first half of the day was spent in writing the exam.

After writing the exam, I called up Coach and he blessed me good luck.
Then, I went to home and took some lunch. Then I went with total kit to Vishal's home.

He gave me an idea of recommendation. His uncle was a Member of legislative Assemble (MLA). So, we went to Congress Party office and met his uncle.

He gave separate letters to me and Vishal. We drove ourselves to the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

First look:-

We were astonished to see no crowd at the gate.
So, we went and asked the watchman about what was going on.
He said us that we were too late. So our entry is prohibited.
But, we had some powerful thing in our hand.

What??

What??

That was nothing but the Recommendation Letter
Which allowed us enter the ground.
There wasn't much rush as no one knew about the selections.

First look (inside the ground)

Already the selection match was on.
Players playing the game:-

I was shocked to see Manpreet Singh Gony Playing..!! He was from Punjab but he was playing for Hyderabad team selection??

Then, after I asked manager, he said that he was called up for making the match tight...

I was tensed as I knew that we weren't going to be selected. But the other guy was happily enjoying the game. I was shocked him watching the match like that. So, I questioned him why was he enjoying the match??
He replied me that we had recommendation letter which is letting me enjoy.
So, I even tried to enjoy the game when the team manager called us.

He asked us why were we late??
We lied him that the traffic was struck up near my home.

He questioned us did we come with any recommendation.
My friend replied,"Yeah sir, we're with the recommendation of Mahaboobnagar's MLA.

So, he asked the letters.
we gave him the duplicates.

The reason why we gave him the duplicates was he may tear off and say what would we do then??
So, we gave him the duplicates.

He wanted to test my game. Vishal played the Ranji Trophy early that year.
He was a all round spin bowler.

So, the manager took us to the nets and made us play.
I was to bat and he was to bowl. We asked him half an hour time as we weresn't warmed up.
He told us that he'll give us the time we wanted. But, he strictly said (as warning) us that "If we perfrom against one another, we would be in. Or else, we won't be taken in to consideration.
So, I got myself warmed up but the other one was doing gymnastics.

I was confused.
He said even me to join him.
He had many previous occasions where he used his uncle's influence.
So, he was quite confedent that we both were in the team.

But it was first time in life, where I used a political influence. So, I was little bit nervous of getting selected.

He said me that he even was in my position when he used first time recommendation and asked me to be confident.
I tried my level best (even in getting rid tension) but I couldn't as he was.

So, finally, the coach came and asked were we ready??
I said him that I was but the other one said that he had a small injury on his leg. So, he said that he won't play that day.

Manager spoke out that its ok and asked me to bat for a bowling machiene.

The machiene we had in our local culb was the one with no random line and length. So I expected the same thing here.

I took the first delivery. It came off to my legs and I defended it.
The mistake I did was expecting the same machiene as it was in my club.

The machiene in my club was the one which needs manual work to change the line and length.

The next delivery was a bouncer......!!!!!!
I expected the same ball as I'd do in the local culb.
I just tried to hit hook shot expecting the same delivery.

But, it directly hit my helmet.
So, I got some consiousness and I thought that "it waked me up"

So, the next ball was a off spin. Me being a right Hand Pinch hitter, just tried to lift up the ball.
Ok it got connected hit the net.

The test went on like that and the live telecast was being done to the selection committee.

I faced about 100 balls when I was called up by the manager.
I went to the place where he took. He took me so long somewhere to the office of Selection committee.

He finally took me to the selection committee and the member of committee asked me whether I was interested to play professional cricket or not.

I replied him that I was interested.

He asked me to get a letter from my parents as I still was not 18.
They asked me about my bowling.
I replied that I was a pacer and even can spin the ball when needed, but, I was a specilased Wicket Keeper.

So, they asked me to keep wickets as they din't see my wicketkeeping.

I asked Vishal to bowl.
He bowled to me without any hesitaion.

The manager asked why he din't bowl when he asked??
He said that he was in a mood of sleep when he asked that.

And, I kept again for 100 balls.
After that, the selection committee asked us to report at the stadium the next day morning sharply at 09:00 AM.


So, we returned my home we called up our friends and planned to go to a movie.

What would happen the next morning??
Will I get selected??
Or will I be detained??

This is a great start to the story.
I love the writing and presentation till now.
But The Recommendation Thing you brought up actually i don't like it.
Not in a story but generally.
In India,this is everywhere. You have recommendation you are in and if you don't you need money power and if that too you don't have then you will get wasted even though you are immensely talented.
I hope this thing changes someday.

A good attempt at a story involving both graphics and writing, which your presentation will no doubt improve and flow more fluently as the story progress'. Suren isn't a bad role model to have.

Hopefully you get selected and a chance to shine. You sound like a very promising wicket keeper batsman. Try and keep it as realistic as possible, which I think will be hard as it is with young stories, but good luck.

I've got Cricket 2004 from my friend. So, I may be even writing with it as there are no Indian Stadiums except Kolkata in Cricket 2007.

So, I asked my friend, the C2K4 which he gave..

Well, after watching movie, I returned home by 10:30 PM. Then, I immediately took some supper and got on to bed.

Date:- 19th March, 2009
Place:- At my local Cricket club.​

I got up at 05:30AM as usual I do on exams time.

Then, I called up my coach to ask whether he is at club or not.
He said that he was at the club and asked me to come. So, I went by bike.

Already my friends Vadiraja and Vishal were warming up. I even warmed up slightly and I concentrated mainly on batting as I din't had much practice.

But my coach scolded me and asked me to keep. But I said that keeping doesn't harm me unless there is a left hand - Right hand partnership going on.

So, I thought that he understood what I wanted to say him.
(Actually, TBH, I was a bit lazy to keep.)

Then, I padded up myself and the club's fastest bowler Vadiraja even drank some milk.

My coach said that we were going to play two T20 matches against Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools. So, he said me that if I perform well and practicewell, he'd take me or else, he'd ignore me.

Vadiraja bowled me at mid 120's. I faced them firstly with over confidence and then with confidence after getting bowled first ball itself..

Then, I got my mind in my control. I practiced until the clock showed 07:45AM.

Then I returned home. I took bath and attended natural calls. With great hurry burry in home(especially in my bath room as in hurry, I got soap into my eyes and water into my nose) , I somehow managed to get totally ready by 08:15 AM.

Then I asked my father to write the willing letter which he did with a little bit of hesitation as he din't see me playing cricket.

Somehow, I got it signed and I went to temple nearby and prayed to god
about my selection.

Then, by 08:30AM, I left to stadium which was 2 KM away from my residence.
I took my bike and in that hurry, I forgot to wear helmet for which I was caught by the cops.:doh
(in that distance of 2 KM)

I said that I had to attend the selections.

He din't leave me. So, what I did was just gave him 500 rupees and continued my journey.

Finally, I reached the stadium by 08:55AM and I was waiting for the manager to come at East pavilion.

I waited until the clock showed 09:30AM. I was getting frustrated.

So, to control that, I walked here and there.

Some labour asked me who I was and for what I was there.

I said the total story and I asked him where the manager was.

He replied that he'll come soon, wait for sometime.

Then, my eyesight got onto some machines..

I asked him what they were.

He replied that they were the machines with which they prepare the practice pitches and even clean the ground after rain.

Then, I had a call from the Manager that he was on his way.

After 1/2 an hour, he came. (finally he was 1 hr. late)

Then he said me that the squad for the Vijay Hazare's T20 Knockout was ready and I was named the Wicketkeeper of the team.
(yeeeeeeeeeeee.... yaaaaaahoooooooo..... whooooooooomp....... I couldn't stop my mind. But I forced myself to keep quite.)

Then he asked me the willing letter from my father which I gave.

Then, I was given a set of papers and I was asked to sign which I did.

Then, he asked me to join the practice for that day and he said that we'd be moving to Chennai on 24th for the Vijay Hazare's T20 KO tournament.

So, I moved to the practice nets where everyone were there practicing.

I even got padded up and I even joined them. Tirumalsetti Suman came to me and asked whether I was Prithvi, the new player.
I replied yep.

He introduced the total team to me and I even introduced myself to the total team.

Our coach V.V.S.Laxman wasn't present that day as he was affected with Viral Fever.

Suman was one of the gentlemen what I feel as no one in the team came up to me talking except him.

Then the intensive practice was on.

I had to face many IPL level bowlers like Vijaykumar, Maqsusi, Ojha etc etc.
But, I got the words of our Captain, Suman on my mind. (Hey, just you see the ball not the bowler.)

I thought that I wasn't any less when compared to them.

I even started punishing the bowlers after a few adjustment to the climate out there.

Then, we had Ambati Rayudu coming and I introduced myself and he even did the same.

As it was the first day, I was asked to attend the camp from the next day.

What would happen in the practice camp??
