Most decades were dominated by guys that had already started their careers at the tail end of the decade before, so the guys that are going to score all the runs and take all the wickets should already be playing. Or at the very least extremely close to their first call up meaning that we've probably heard of them already either through ODI cricket or just making a big impact on the domestic scene.

Who do you reckon will be the stars?

Edit.

Added a Poll to jog memories.

Suresh Raina. This guy was already listed among the top 10 cricketers that would rule the cricket world in the next decade.

naresh091 added 2 Minutes and 57 Seconds later...

De Villiers,Duminy,Kandamby too for me.

I reckon Guptill has half a chance, he's had an awesome start to his career. Umar Akmal is the same.

I'd go with De Villiers and Duminy, I think SA will end up dominating this decade, even being chokers I think they'll end up with far too much talent to lose many games.

Shakib is my outside pick, don't think bangladesh will end up streaking up the rankings but I reckon they'll finish the decade with at least home wins against every, or most, nations. Shakib to be the main reason, Bangla's Hadlee.

Phillip Hughes, because he is the most run hungry batsmen I have ever seen (apart from Ricky) and for a 20 year old, he has already brocken 2 Bradman marks, and was already compared to Bradman when he was 12 (although I am not saying he will be as good as the Don).

+ He is the youngest player to make 2 centuries in a Test and the youngest to make a 100 in a Pura Cup Final.

He has all the shots, the awesome, inventive, all-power and the ugly. He can play any role and bowlers will never figure him out.

Every shot he plays, the commentators start laughing, coz they think its horrible, then he does it again and again and again.....till he reaches a century.

And I think you have the right Idea too, making his name in Italic :happy:happy

Not sure if you are sarcastic. But the poll shows your choice in italics.

I dont see Duminy and De Villeiers as the new dominant players of the next decade, they are both already around 25 years of age and i dont see them carrying on right through out the next decade. Other then these two players all the other players have a chance of dominating. To me the players should be in around 19 - 23 age wise in order to qualify.

btw where is Wayne Parnell?
