Hey guys, I am just wondering what drew you guys to playing cricket? For me it is the usual English story of I played it in school sports lessons and really enjoy it, and then went and join the local club and progressed from there. I also remember the ashes of 2005 being a very important step in encouraging me to play the sport.

I was just wondering if anyone else remembered what drew them to cricket?

Waqar Younis. Lords. 1992.

That was the first cricket match, I saw. More specifically, the first performance I saw. This is where my interest first developed.

But I've only followed the game properly since 06-07 Ashes.

99 WC as Pakistan Performed quite well in that. Can't Remember much as i was nearly 6 year old .From then I haven't missed Pakistan's Single game.

I loved cricket since I was a child, about 5-6 years old, but I begun watching the game around 2002-2003, around the world cup I guess.

I started watching cricket since I was 5 but I started playing since I was 3 because my servant back in Bangladesh introduced me into cricket.:p

Cricket is THE sport here in Pakistan. When my family moved from my hometown of Shakargarh to Lahore, I got into cricket as every kid in the street used to play the game. 1992 world cup victory really drew me in. I was 13 yeas old then. I came to understand the ins and outs of the great game from 1997 onward and have been an ardent lover of Cricket since.

Best mate took me down a to the local club and that we had a great time. Surrey winning the first ever T20 Finals Day (which I remember following on Teletext) and then 2005 Ashes.

Have basically had a two year break from playing the game but looking forward to when I get back to playing properly!

The Two Sharjah knocks of Sachin. I couldn't believe how easily he was hitting Aussie bowler where others were struggling. :clap

I began following cricket since I watched Anil Kumble taking 10 wickets against Pakistan in the 2nd Test, Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, Delhi, February 4-8, 1999 when he run through the batting and Pakistan ended up only on 207 to also lose the test match from a commanding 101/0 at one stage. I loved that performance and developed the interest in the game.

+1 for Anil Kumble. I became real interested during the Hero cup between India and West Indies in Eden. Kumble was awesome and those were the days when people use to start victory fires in stadiums. The stadium was cloudy and fires all round and Kumble was on fire. :thumbs

I hurled a ball at one person and he told me to follow cricket and start playing it. That was the start. Now I can't even hurl it at one guy's wood piece, so I'm going to end watching cricket.

As simple as that.

2003 World Cup finals was probably my first Cricket match I watched full. At that time, I had heard of Sachin a lot but never seen him batting.

Bad match to watch if you wanted to see sachin batting :D Did you stop watching cricket after that finals?
