Your Cricket What drew you to cricket?

Waqar Younas 1990, Brilliant performance against westindies at Sharjah. Though I was 5 years old at that time. Just loved the cricket after that.

But that PASSIONATE CRICKET CRAZE came into my heart I must say, The 1992 Cricket World Cup. :) :)

It was too long ago, but apparently I used to just sit and watch it as a small child (any sport really). At some point someone got me a set of Howzat dice, a boxed version of Test Match Cricket and a scorebook. From then on I was either creating epic series with imaginary teams of superstars or playing one of my mates at Test Match (I think that's what it was called). Depressingly I think they're probably still both better games than most of the digital representations these days.

I have many memories of watching Ambrose, Walsh and McGrath all tearing through England batting lineups in a session. Ambrose was quite literally the coolest sportsman of my childhood. I have vague memories of seeing Paul Adams once bowl for the Saffers, and inevitably skittle England. I think I must have spent days down the nets trying to recreate the "Adams action." Might explain my shoulder troubles these days haha

Just like many here, I went to the local club when I was around 9 and never left until I moved to Bristol 5 years ago. Proud to say that when I left, it now has one of the strongest colt sections in English cricket and 5 league XI's out each Saturday. When I used to captain each age group, I would play for the men's 3rd XI when I was just 14. Such a different club now :)

A followon from backyard cricket, 1st real series I really followed was Ashes 06/07, then I went nuts on it XD now I play as well for a local club since 2010. C grade and Under 16s.

I remember playing Cricket 96 and 97 to death on the PC when they first came out, but I didn't start following cricket until around 1999 after signing up for juniors because all my mates were playing. Test matches put me to sleep for the first few years until I really started appreciating all the nuances and particularly playing India in India and the Ashes really dragged me in.

My dad is a decent fan of cricket. He used to watch generally all cricket matches India played!! It was the Kolkata Test of 2001 against the Aussies that drew me to cricket. Yeah!! Harbhajan, Laxman and Dravid they were whom I saw doing nothing less than a miracle to win the match. Since then, I've followed the sport. I love it.

My granddad was a massive fan of test cricket, so my dad watches it and hense I watch it. It is like tradition.

2005 Ashes was the first ever series i ever followed and in that series Australia got into my heart :cheers
