There were nine teams in seasons nine and ten, but then the talent was wayy to much distributed and diluted so it was reduced back to eight.

There's easily enough talent to have more than eight teams, it's just that eight teams is the easiest number for me to manage. The reason I increased the number of teams to nine was so that I could try out that three conference system, but it didn't work as well as I thought it would.

I've received release lists from Haarithan, Sartaj, and RPHKR, the quicker I get them all the quicker we can start the draft.

I'll make a call on the final manager soon. Obviously it's tough for me, because I can only please one person.

Tbh I don't want to have to separate you guys based on who I think will be the "best manager", because I know all of you are active etc., so I've done a bit of time traveling through the thread to see which one of you has been waiting the longest. (I know a few of you have VMed me about having a team in the past, but I'm not going to go back through them)

Firstly Binnu's had a couple of cameo appearances in the past, so because of that I want to give someone else a go. This is the first time that Zakistan, Varun978, and Umair2000 have shown interest in the thread, so I'm going to count all of them out. ahmad shah and Great India showed interest last season when I was looking for a manager, but Prats has posts about wanting a team dating back to 2010, so I'm going to give Waikato to him.

As I said before I'll be looking to return later this year with a final thirteenth season, and if I do I will definitely consider expanding the number of teams to ten to go out with a blockbuster season. Obviously that's a long way away so there's no need to worry about that now, but those of you who have displayed continuous interest like Prats has will be the first in line for those extra teams.

As I said before it's impossible for me to please anymore than one of you, so I hope you all understand. There's plenty of other good leagues going on atm anyway, so missing out on one shouldn't be that bad. :thumbs

Release list received from Dipak, keep them coming guys.

@ Prats - You can now PM me your list of players that you're releasing. You must release at least three domestic players and at least two international players, with the more players you release the earlier you come into the draft.

I'm proud to say, I gave up a team, and again got one very quickly. Not just in NZPL, it also happened in APL.

Otago Volts, I still remember, Chris Harris was my star player;):D.

I've updated the New Zealand player list, and got rid of a lot of players, I'll VM you those players concerns you.

The qualification is that they must have played a New Zealand domestic/international match this season, or they must be contracted, e.g. Daryl Tuffey hasn't played a match this season because of injury, but he's still contracted with Auckland. Most notably I've got rid of Chris Harris because he only plays in the Zimbabwean T20 league, and I've got rid of Iain O'Brien who's now retired from all cricket.

There are a couple of players that I'm not 100% sure on, because they've only played like one match and not done anything in it. Also the part-time/full-time keeper distinction is very borderline in a lot of places, like Cachopa, Latham, etc.

I might make a couple more changes, but by in large this is the list:

Code:
Order

Batsmen
Wicket-keepers
All-rounders
Fast bowlers
Spin bowlers

NZC = New Zealand Cricket contracted
DC = Domestically contracted
OC = Overseas contracted
PC = Previously contracted

I still need release lists from Riz, Prats, BKB, and I need Haarithan to clarify something.

That was quite a just decision there. Prathmesh was waiting the longest so he rightly deserved the team. I'll still try and follow the league.

Off the topic: 2 members and 40 guests viewing this! Wow! Shows how much interest the league has created.

Because I've still got nothing from Prats, I'm going to release all of his players. The first reason for doing this is so that we can get things moving, and the second reason is that he's coming into a team that he had no impact in originally picking, so this should somewhat make-up for that. I've looked at possible draft permutations, and this shouldn't disadvantage any of the current seven managers.

I know he (Prats) could be busy in real life, but I've given him four days in which he's come online at least once, so I'm not going to wait any longer. If he doesn't make his first lot of draft picks within 24 hours, I will have to seriously consider giving his team to someone else, because that would have been five days in a season which I want to get through reasonably quickly.

Here are the releases, I'll post the draft information soon:
